Obv it's great to have more robust LR thread OP's with an assortment of info, but there's no rule against anyone making an LR thread. The LR thread standards were implemented in an age when we had the exact opposite issue from now, when TOO many ppl wanted to make the LR thread for clout. But at this point there's really not much of a barrier from anyone making a LR thread for any event.

It’s only 3 toss so they will probably complain still that they got unnecessarily nerfed with the patch? :p Poor Cure though, from GSL champion to getting eliminated in group stage over and over

Ryung showed great TvP there while Zest looked shaky so his elimination was not super surprising. Classic getting out over DRG or Dream would have been possible but imo like 40:60, I think he did not improve / get back in shape as fast as herO. Creator was a bit of a surprise but he looked really good in 2021 season and thankfully Trap played better as the day went on. It was a bit preemptive to freak out about race distribution before all the groups played out; thankfully we got the best distribution possible so we will get to see how all the match-ups play out after the patch, especially with round robin which is very very new in GSL, can't wait

Well, to be fair: the problem with Zerg has never been that they have been overrepresented in Ro8/10 in GSL for far too long. They have traditionally been insanely top heavy in Korea. They might have won a fuckton of tournaments, but having more Zerg than Protoss AND Terran in a Ro10 (or Ro8 before that) of GSL is actually a novelty for Legacy of the Void. Their best results so far have been ("best" meaning: no race had more representation than Zerg in Ro8) 2019 Global StarCraft II League Season 3: Code S - 2P, 3T, 3Z 2017 Global StarCraft II League Season 3: Code S - 2P, 3T, 3Z We'll see later on whether anything has changed about the results of the tournaments. Having more Zerg than usual in Ro10 is not necessarily bad though. :-P

I wouldn't mind doing some of them when I have the time

Hero looked super dead in his first match g3 with Cure, when he pulled his scvs and still had a moderate bio ball vs just a few zealots and like 1 archon But it was really cool how he pulled his probes and retreated to his natural knowing all he needed to do was stay alive (something a lot of pros don't seem to do in that situation; they try to defend the 3rd and lose the nexus and all the probes there instead) And it was really cool how the zealots + few archons was enough to hold!! I guess it was really the phoenix tech that made his composition not total shit vs bio. The phoenixes really do so much work grinding down medivacs so the bio can't keep healing back up enough and kiting forever, and also picking up even a couple WMs and units makes a difference! And generally just tanking a little damage as well. Really love watching Protoss defense in LotV, especially with shield batteries (which help lengthen fights and encourage micro / poking and pulling back)!! And glad Ragnarok and Hero made it out in general! Always was a little fond of Ragnarok, and his cheeses were so funny, and he has the potential to do well in Ro10. And Hero is good and cool to watch, and nice to have a 3rd Protoss make it out! Creator hero Trap are probably my 3 favorite protoss in that order!

Not sure how the seeding will be with 5 groups, I guess 2 first place and 2 second place from different groups, then the lowest rank 1st place and highest rank 2nd place to be distributed? It would be fun if we have all the heavy hitter on 1 group, then the other group with wild-card players.

I would rather have group nominations for Ro10 because it was much fun to have drama and more players' interactions in the past.

Ryung could get 3rd in his group as well, possibly even 2nd! I think Trap is more beatable than Dark or Maru, so Group 1 looks easier to me. But overall the groups look pretty balanced!

I wish they'd give an extra veto instead of replacing but I guess we'd never see nautlius that way.
