Kind of funny to see Heromarine with more points than Serral, but I guess that's what missing a season finals does.

EDIT: Thank you Rotti for the "going from vorse to vorse" meme :D

I realy wish, they would take like 1k of from 1st and 500 of from 2nd and spread it to the bottom 8 finishers. 5k 2.5k 1.5k 750 250 125 would allready look way way better, if you ask me That would be awesome honestly. Returnees like Keen or new blood like Percival need some support

But Assembly has always been top heavy and probably see supporting returnees and up-and-comers as a secondary concern.

Which is as close as we get to world rankings in SC2, and many sports do the majority of their qualification that way. I’m still not a massive fan because it’s giving those who have already done well chances to gap their regular competition on the circuit, I’d like these other tournaments to be snapshots of who is in form now and giving others a chance to claw back some ground. On the other hand scheduling to get the big names in the scene is tricky enough without adding a bunch of qualifiers. Plus you’d likely see much the same names anyway if we did go the qualifying route anyway so it’s not a huge dealbreaker for me anyway.

I’d just assumed he was maximising his chances by playing multiple qualifiers. If not then, I dunno. Maybe a Kr attempt and running that difficult gauntlet is an attempt to stay as sharp as possible. Was discussing this with someone earlier actually, can anyone remember the tourney Cure qualified through the EU server for? My memory is saying the Katowice open bracket, but also my memory is terrible.

Katowice 2019 I think for Cure, he went 2-3 vs Serral in winner bracket.

I am surprised he lost against maxpax' skytoss which doesn't look as sharp as neeb's but it was a nice engage (or a bad one by serral...). Too bad, he was in the lead after destroying the fifth. Gg maxpax tho

Serral today looked very off with his caster control imo and in the one ight he went in with ground + viper while pulling away his corruptors etc. didnt make much sense to me.

He wanted to avoid the charged vr, his pack of corrupters was designed to destroy the protoss air army once the ultras destroyed the archon/ht and the airtoss has been softened by pb/fungal/queens but this low count don't do much apart tankikg a bit. I didn't rewatch the fight but his queens seemed depleted of energy from the start of the fight and it was the same for his vipers (he had like 1 or 2 right ?), I don't even know if he had the possibility of parasit bombing, maybe I missed the animation but I didn't see it+ he had a few garbage supply ravagers, when you're on 90 drones that's bad. Maxpax had a few zelotes but they're less problématic than ravagers. Overall, I think it's a rather a bad timing/ decision making from his part rather than a bad control, retreating into the spores was prolly his only way of keeping his lead but a top player might have a different view.

Hmm maybe but taking the fiht on low viper energy is probably a bad idea already also i'm not sure why vs carriers he didnt work more with his spores, well whatever overall i felt he played severly below his normal level.
