Also it has to be said that both against Dream and Maru the fact that Byun opts to go incredibly raven and viking light came back to bite him. I get not wanting to overinvest in air but air superiority is amazing in those marine tank fights especially because your ravens can get close enough to matrix their tanks and theirs can't. But I don't really expect Byun to change haha
that basically summarizes byun right? low tech army whole game but gets wins cuz of small victories and efficient micro

Sword and shield are equally matched imo, just an issue of who plays better on the day. Maru vs TY is shield vs shield tho I'm not saying it can't beat the best on the day if you have better army movement/positioning/macro/harassment but I do think he could make things easier on himself if he didn't concede the air from the start. Not that Byun is one to make things easier on himself

it goes like that for last game only. first two rounds are in different times.

it's all about logistical constraints vs having a good format
IEM has always been a live event that only has a given venue for a certain # hours over a certain # of days, so it's virtually impossible for them to show all round-robin matches on one stream. Players really prefer playing comprehensive round robins, so side streams is the compromise everyone reached.

Oh, ok didn't know that, in any case they said that's what they said on the B stream (the collusion thing, not the WC thing)

they interview TY first so they have room in the winners interview for maru

Maru building two bunkers? I'm confused

Ty putting fires on like a maniac and maru running behind with an extinguisher

Until I saw this, I never realised that four Marines can probably just kill a sieged Tank .

I really dislike the overuse of wider camera in the b stream. Everything looks tiny.

Hey IEM production crew, if you’re reading this: I really like the virtual commentator desks and player cams. This is the best-produced online tournament I have watched.
