Byun also performs well with his wrist injury. It seems like they can play a few games and push through the pain but marathon runs are probably too much.

Ya Starcraft. Repetitive stress injury I think.

Maru losing Oxide made this outcome very likely.

Isn't it crazy that we can see 20 year pro careers in the NFL and NBA, but not for SC2? Boxer and Whitera were ~30 years old when they wrapped up their careers, and we could see the impact of age on their play back then

Depends very much on the sport. Some FIFA pros and fighting pros are quite old

The human body isn’t built for hours straight of repetitive movements. Sports players drop out from injuries too.

Well 20 years careers are ridiculous outliers in the NFL and NBA (average NFL career is like 3 years). Meanwhile over half the Code S players have been 'pro' for 10+ years if you count BW.

This game is boring honestly

Some FIFA pros and fighting pros are quite old Davide Rebellin is still a pro cyclist and nearing 50. Even in sports where explosivity is fundamental you have the odd Gatlin / Kim Collins. If you really want it, adjust your training and dedicate everything to stay at the top you can. Not everyone has the will to do it - or even wants to do it in the first place, the life of a pro in any sports is probably incredibly strenuous - though

I blame Roaches.

Lucky for Serral that he has a bank... these attacks of his are kind of ineffective, as he's been so passive that he let Maru claw back into the game to at least have a fighting chance. Serral is still ahead though.

The dreaded broodlord infestor. That's one way to seal the deal.

btw 3-3 armory upgrades, does this count as... ?

I don't think progaming and the toll it takes on the body (which is probably unknown and can only be speculated about) can be compared with regular athletism. Remember that live heart rate measurement some tournament had once? The guys play under fight or flight circumstances despite moving very minor muscle groups in a very intense way. Given what we know of stress research it does not bode well for them from a cardiovascular point of view.
Honestly my neck, shoulders, elbow and wrist hurt just doing regular office work sometimes. I can't imagine how long sessions of 500 apm must feel.

I'm not saying it's easy, I'm not saying every pro could be able to play at like 80% of his peak level until 35, but I'm pretty sure you theoretically could stay relevant at 30+, even 35+
