Plz I can’t imagine 12 years of people calling him the NightKing

Maru would destroy a random tournament. It wouldn't even be close.

With the time he had the most he could manage to come up with was the game 2 build. Inno is very good at preparation formats for a reason. Yeah, he's not good at implementing special stuff on the fly. But his build also didn't look too sharp against Solar. If he fails to do damage with the drops, zerg just rolls over him. (Pro gamer zerg that is, Inno would shit on 99,9% of all players with his raw mechanics.) When did that change? I recall a time where terran were winning weekenders left and right with only marginal success in long form prepared format tournaments. I think the only times Terran didn't excel at preparation tournaments were the times the race was generally weak.

They can do bo9 with all race combinations and get PiG and Beastyqt to cast it, of course

I think it's not Serral whos responsible for "boring" tournaments but rather how the game developed. This is the first time in ~9 years of SC II where I'm genuinely bored with a tournament because I feel like I've already seen every single game that is beeing played. No matter if ZvP, PvP, ZvZ, TvP, TvT,.... Although this game will get it's support over the next three years, I just can't see myself watching more than one or two tournaments per year unless they release another addon, new units or change/add mechanics. I kind of agree. It always seems that the big (and usually only) meta changes happen when there's a patch that changes something, whereas in BW for me at least it manages to stay relatively fresh without any changes to the game itself. (Not saying one is better than the other)

He also doesn't have military.
Still I'm somewhat hype of when we'll wonder if korean up and comer Creator can challenge him after coming back from the military

Those were also the wild west years of SC2, don't forget that. We're past our prime, those days will never come back. Personally, I like to have a stable top tier of players. That's just how competition works. Those who stick around, stay on top, if they're good enough. These extremely volatile MLG brackets were fun to watch, when there were no eagles on screen, but the overall level of play was hilariously bad in comparison to today's display of skill.
TLDR: Gameplay has never been better as it is right now, which is why there's less randomness.

Maybe floyd mayweather is the more apt comparison if you consider how the promoters use him to benefit off dubious racial dynamics

While my memory remembers terran in general winning tons of weekenders it was mainly just taeja.

There's also much fewer new players to challenge the established ones.

It would for sure way less since Finland has military service just like Korea; also, Serral basically said that he's not even sure he'll play for the next three years(it's highly likely tho because of ESL).

Very true. I don't have a lot of faith in the likes of Chance, Prince and Gyulzzing to revitalise the korean scene with the vibrancy of youth and god-tier micro
