I was 21 and wanted to drink "the finer things" and fell in love with whiskey naturally. I'm a bartender by trade and expanded my amateur knowledge a TON that way since the bar I used to work at had over 100 different kinds and I got acquainted with all of them.
My favorite thing to do as a bartender other than make flashy drinks for girls, was to be snobby about scotch with bar patrons and help them pick out the perfect one they want.
I definitely enjoy more than just a wee dram here and there, but I haven't gotten to a point where I've lost my ability to appreciate the subtle finer things in a tasting setting.

you sound like the kind of bartender i enjoy! do you accept if someone buys a dram or shot or whatever for you, and do you like that or does it annoy you?
one thing at tastings i don't really get is the people that have beer. i get drunk enough on Whisky and the beer just messes with my nose and tastebuds way too much. also blows my mind when a dude is super passionate about fine Whisky and then orders some cheap shit beer to drink with it

ro12 matches are worth €5000, ro8 matches are worth €15000, ro4 matches are worth €40000, the final is worth €85000.
The weekend will be absolutely brutal.

That totally depends on what bar I'm working at. If the bar managers let me drink on the job (and most non-corporate places do because the customers pay more money that way) then I'd happily accept the drink. If I can't enjoy it, I'd politely refuse it and drop a subtle hint to just up the tip instead.
And yea, if I'm drinking beer with my whiskey it means I'm drinking the beer for the flavor and the whiskey for the effect. If my goal is to taste and appreciate something, I'm having it by itself with plenty of water on the side to keep my pallette (and my senses) fresh.

thanks for the answer about drinking on the job. if i wanna treat the bartender i'll usually ask them if they're cool with it first but sometimes i'm not sure if they're just being polite when they accept it.
do you get a lot of girls' numbers on the job?

I know this sucks but realistically there's an outbreak in Korea and in Europe, so let's be on the safer side of things. They could have cancelled it altogether.

I think i figured out what I love the most of IEM, The fact that all the casters were so Reynor biased and then Rogue crush him hard with no mercy,,, it gave me pleasure close to an orgasm.
Thank you IEM!

It took all this time for you to realize you hate non koreans and you love seeing them lose? Yes, Katowice has been the best tournament for that.
You could have asked me, I have always had the answer!

Really cool to not see a single Rogue game on the main stream (possible I missed it, but I definitely looked).

The fifth game, Rogue vs Reynor, was played on the main stage.

I actually did, but I'm the kind of guy that girls just want to be friends with. So I got plenty of drinking buddies and hung out at plenty of parties.
I rarely got any dates or more out of them. After a while you stop caring about it. I'd rather have a nice tip and a smile vs a phone number (or more commonly an Instagram account) I'm probably not going to do anything with.
