Game 1 only happened because Reynor did what Serral did, he went for Hive and Greater Spire super fast and for some reason stopped making units when HeroMarine was still attacking him.
Both series could have and should have been 3-0s. The Zergs just got cocky and got punished for it.
Wat? Gabe was crushing him start to finish game 1.
Go back and rewatch it when you get the chance. Reynor holds at the third base after HM's first attack and then inexplicably goes straight to Hive.
It snowballed from there. It looked to me like Reynor thought that HM wasn't as committed to the attack as he was. Notice he doesn't make that mistake again in the series.

I mean, he could always not tech to hive and lose because of late hive.

Based on how HM seemed to be approaching that series that doesn't seem likely. HM seemed pretty committed to winning off mid game parade pushes.
Edit: Except for Game 3, which HM went for Battle Mech but got run over before he could get it out on the map.

Do you know you can be the better player than someone else [altogether] but still lose vs. him/ her?
Edit: Also Heromarine vs. South Koreans: 94–169 (35.74%) in games and 31–79 (28.18%) in matches, while Reynor is 192–193 (49.87%) in games and 80–78 (50.63%) in matches

He was building 4th CC in the first game, while he accidentally killed Reynor. And he only all-ined in game 2...
