Introducing The NA Contender, the sister tournament of The NA Apprentice. It is a GSL-style tournament aimed at up and coming NA players at the masters and below level. Both tournaments are run simultaneously.
You can contribute $0.5 to the prize pool for free on Matcherino with the coupon code ContenderNA1.
There are no qualifiers for this tournament. The player pool is based on a first come, first serve sign up process. Once all 32 spots are filled up, sign ups will be closed.
That being said: If there are way more than 32 players interested in playing, the tournament format may change to accommodate and include those players. Therefore, the schedule and format listed below are tentative until registration concludes.
Eligibility:
Only NA citizens/residents who meet the follow requirements may participate:
* Never exceeded 5250 MMR in the last 4 months
* Have at least 30 1v1 ladder games on their main account before registering.
Player Schedule:
* Group Stage1: May 27 - June 1
* Group Stage 2: June 3 - 15
* Ro8: June 17 - 22
* Ro4: June 24 - 29
* Finals: TBD
Format:
Players schedule and play out their owns matches within the allotted time during each stage.
* Group Stage 1: 8 Bo3 round robin groups of 8 players each. Top 2 of each group advance.
* Group Stage 2: 4 Bo3 round robin groups of 4 players each. Top 2 of each group advance.
* Playoffs: Single elimination bracket. Ro8 and Ro4 are Bo5. Finals is Bo7.
