The Main Tournament, now known solely as the WardiTV Team League Season 8, will see ten teams battling it out for a prize pool of over $2500. The competition is now split into three stages : pre-season, main-season and post-season.
In the pre-season six teams will be invited to the league (four from Season 7, and two after qualifiers) and four teams will qualify through our pre-season qualifier, which any team can register for.
The main season will see the ten teams initially split into two groups for Round 1, where they will play round-robin in BO7 all-kill matches. Bottom two teams from each group are eliminated, leaving six teams for Round 2 - a round-robin group in which teams play BO5 proleague style matches. Top four teams advance to the post-season.
The post-season is when the gauntlet style playoffs will take place : 4th vs 3rd, winner vs 2nd and then winner vs 1st. We will also have a post-season qualifier for teams to lock-in their position in Season 9 of the league.
This new format is designed to give regular high quality matches while testing teams in multiple formats and we believe it's going to create an amazing story line for viewers!

In the past we had multiple divisions below the main event, but now we have one single event, the WardiTV Team League Season 8 Open. This event has no limit on the number of allowed sign-ups, as well as no limits on region or skill level.
The format for the Open is a large swiss-style group, meaning that over time teams will begin to play other teams around their skill level. Once the group concludes, all teams will be thrown into one of multiple playoff brackets, which are separated by the ranking of teams. The highest ranking playoff bracket will play for the prize pool.
