Protoss still have Zealots, right? Why are people shading these new, more expensive, less DPS units on top of terran armies in their stead? You will understand after you watch 20+ PvX how strong Adepts are. Basically unit starts with shade ability, it doesn't need to upgrade it, it costs more than Zealot but less than a Stalker, has bonus damage against light units so it shreds Marines into pieces, has attack speed upgrade and it is ranged unit, which means that Zealots will always block each other out, are easy to kite and focus down while majority of Adepts will be able to attack. i understand their use against light units. But in these games they are being shaded on top of tanks, and in general just being neglectfully thrown away. I'm not saying build a billion zealots instead, but this adept spam looks and feels like a terran trying to win games by building nothing but reapers. Sure it's good to start with, but en masse the cute tricks just don't work anymore. They can shade. They teleport on top of tanks. Zealots get shredded before they can close onto anything. They have ranged attack instead of melee. Adepts are more cost efficient vs any Terran unit, really.

They can trap units between each other so the Terran can't use the bio units' superior range to kite. They draw insane amounts of friendly fire into the Terran armies. You can't get engagements like this with zealots, adepts are just so much easier to get on top of the Terran army.

You need tech units vs Terran or a tempo advantage.
