Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

You guys know I was always against "balance whining" and patching things out just because they are strong (I am still a convinced fan of BL/infestor and SHs), but this Adept thing is getting ridiculous. It's not that much because they are strong, but they are just strong in a boring way. Shading small groups around is fun, but why do they have to be so strong in straight-up fight? This is Marauders and Roaches all over again: boring strong units that just do damage while not dying to the first sneeze around them. Why do we even need to have those around? Marauders were even nerfed along the way (while Roaches were kind "nerfed" by how much other stuff has become better), so there is some understanding at Blizzard that a straight-up strong unit is not very fun, so why even introduce another?

Why do you think the cooldown is the issue? What I see as generally problematic is their standup fighting power - even if they didn't have the shade at all, they stats just seem to be to good. I have recently seen many occasions of them just killing stuff. Okay, sometimes it's after they shade through tanks/libs, but that also wouldn't be solved by shade cooldown, because they need to shade just once to do it.

Some people have suggested health reduction and that's what would make sense to me. I still don't get why they do both so much damage and have so much health, while not leaving much for Zealots to do better. It's pretty much like the gateway/warpgate paradox that has never ever been addressed in all those years.

I think in the huge patch this year they will be nerfing Adepts, or at least their counters becoming much stronger. Banelings and Hydras will be stronger, so will siege tanks and cyclones (?)

I don't feel their straight up fighting power is that much of an issue. What I dislike is games ended with retarded 50 adepts attacks that just wreck your eco because the adepts keep shading everywhere (and it can happen in every mu). If the cooldown was far bigger dealing with that kind of harass would be far less of a pain. But I wouldn't mind a health reduction at all, probably on the shields.

literally the only two games i could watch live today were maru vs myungsik, and after that i knew that whatever happened maru couldn't go through

I'm one of the HP nerf enthousiasts (so I keep posting it everywhere alongside liberator removal requests)

The way I see it:

1. Less hp means shading on top of armies nerfed. It's just numbers, your shit dies faster while the others shit lives longer
2. Ever seen Zergs running around trying to clean up Adepts but just as they're about to kill the last ones a new batch is warped in? An HP nerf done properly will rebalance this as needed (I don't think the nerf needs to be that big)
3. Zealots become a relatively better choice so more diversity

I don't think they should nerf adepts. I like that protoss can defend early aggression by actually building units. I think they should nerf pylon overcharge. Overcharge + adpets is overkill imo. Protoss can get a 3rd and 4th too fast and too easy vs terran.
