fnatic had to give up her game vs LDLC when they abused pixelboosts with olof on Overpass. I believe the "anti ladder statemate" timer shouldnt be a WCS rule and is not in the rulebook, is it? Polt could have agreed that it was a loss as it was. He would have lost the marines + building. In my book; bad admin call and worse decision by Polt to take the rematch.
Simply not very mannered.
Wtf it's not about manners, it's a legitimate strategy (the only one available for Polt) to play for a draw. It was still super easy for Strange to win it but he was too scared to do it. If you want people not to play for draws you actually have to state it beforehands or change or the game is designed.
You could say "hey this guy is not very mannered because he takes a strong race" but it's not a matter of manners it's a matter of integrity / trying to win. If Polt forfeited it would have been like a fix because he earned the right to do a rematch.
Seemingly you dont understand. The game wasn't won to begin with when the situation occured. If Strange rushed it, he could have very well lost it. So saying "Strange was too slow to generate the win" is uncalled for as the result might have been a Polt victory to begin with.
Its beautiful to see someone work for a win and take risks etc, but forcing a draw mechanically on a player after he won is kind of pointless. I cant change the situation but I pretty much can guarantee that there won't be a draw-timer in the custom games after Tours.
How come? He just had to bring two void rays instead of one in order to destroy the factory, since anyways his immortal sentry adept force was enough to defend the assimilators. Plus Polt had no idea if he still had those near assimilators. It was like 95% won for Strange, if you are bad enough not to win in that case you don't deserve the victory.
gratz on forgetting players don't have maphacks.
He knew where the buildings are but not the army. But near the end of the game, there was that situation where he was keeping the army busy with stalkers while 1 voidray attacked the factory. It was almost dead so it got killed before the factory started burning. If he used the full health one, or even both, he would have won right then. Strange dun fucked up.
for all he knew Polt could've had 2 full medivacs only waiting for the voidray to leave to go snipe the assimilators.
He knew it was Polt's entire army. Besides, his assimilators were not undefended, 2 voidrays kill a factory faster than a drop that has to unload and go through a bunch of adepts and an immortal kill 2 assimilators.

how in the hell was he supposed to know if it was his entire army?
Well firstly, because he killed everything else and knows Polt can't rebuild it. But also because if Polt had 2 more full medivacs, he would be using them for something in the situation he was in. Either trying to snipe units/buildings, or defending his last remaining buildings. But Polt was only defending his buildings with 1 squad of units, and he was only killing buildings with that 1 squad of units aswell.
Plus his voidrays covered half the map, you'd figure he'd run into units eventually if they exist.
Cham is probably in the top3 "worst players" (not meant offensive) in the tournament by raw skill, but he seems to be the only pro who is not that stupid to be surprised by bly playing aggressive... I wish other players would be that clever too, maybe he should work as teampsychologist/coach

Generally I feel like it is the responsibility of "worse"or "unheard of" players to be fully aware of his/her opponents as that is the only advantage such a player has...

nah, you're wrong on this one. "He killed everything else" - that's just saying the same, how would he know if he had killed "everything else"? Besides, Polt defending the fac with his tiny force looked suspiciously close to him baiting the attack to go kill the unguarded assimilators.
Didnt see any notice in the comments about it, so i'll just add some more fuel: Polt in fact lost a building around 4:20 before the tie, but the timer didn't reset because it wasn't the opponent who destroyed it (it died to a burn damage https://www.twitch.tv/dreamhacksc2b/v/66349969 3:40:20). So ye, this game exhibited everything there is about forced tie mechanics. Strange is strange indeed, but one can't deny that everything was going wrong for him in this game. :D
