Hard to make a name for yourself if every tournament in your region is won by THEM

It is also hard to make a name for yourself if the only foreigner who makes it to Blizzcon only practices 2 games within the 3 months before the tournament.

He beat Godchio and Bly.

Everyone hating on Nerchio and Bly but they just took home $2000 and $1500, respectively.

Also Puck just took home $1500. These "playground kids" are in the top 10 of the first LoTV tournament and got paid. Everyone needs to stop hating. And even if Showtime and Firecake don't win, they--wait for it--also get an absurd amount of money.

They're top 10 because there were 4 Koreans at this tournament. And they're taking home nice paychecks because the rest of the competition is weaker. I'm not discrediting their performance at this lan, I'm just saying the competition is a bit of a joke.

They finished higher than the koreans in the groups. Pretty unfair to call them a joke dude

Well whatever it is I'm still not impressed. They should at least had Korean qualifiers I don't get that.

I think they're from this tournament and not updated since the group stage.

This tourney just shows much more interesting the e-sports side of SC2 could be if Blizzard mixed up the game completely twice a year or something like that.

At this point Nerchio is probably better than a lot of Koreans, like Zest looked awful lately. Lots of them started late, while the Foreigners mostly played the beta quite a lot. Solar, Parting and Bomber are exceptions, I think TY also suffered a bit from playing HotS quite long. Though not as hard as the Blizzcon participants obviously.

Puck finished 3 spots higher than Bomber and 2 spots below TY. I understand the sentiment, but the field of competition isn't going to settle for a few months as players begin figuring the game out.

Don't worry, we'll be back to Koreans dominating completely soon enough.

Well TY had enough practice to influence the meta in the first tournament he played though (cyclone openers in TvT are pretty much his thing). So he probably had more practice than we would think.

Well ... it never really did. Just look at both HoTS and LoTV - those are sold as "expansions", but they really aren't that much more than a big patch is in DOTA. If that happened more often, we could have more of these fresh situations, with foreigners with headstart, new things unfolding etc...
