I don't think there is a way of breaking turtle mech after a certain point. I would love to see a genius Zerg player find the answer, though. lets all channel for Soulkey's comeback. I think Soulkey's ironwall is one of the few hopes. SK just needs to care enough and he could be a star. I hope a KeSPA team saves him He left SKT because he felt burned out. I don't think he'll go back for at least this year. Yeah and he was pretty bad on SKT so you could tell he needed that break. People overstate how bad he was. Sure he was nowhere near WJS Sk level but a decent PL record staying in GSL and a WCG win(?) is still pretty solid. He just looked bad compared to what we were used to from him.
Exactly, this is also during a time in s1+s2 where only soO/Life were doing anything. (In almost all of 2014, actually)
He was still a DAMN good player

And then their rivalry to heat up again.

I believe soO and Dark will find a way. My bet is on hyvaa. Zergs will be dumbfounded and he will show up and say, "Just all-in them first" Innovation vs hyvaa in Code A was way more disappointing then I had hoped Their GSTL game was amazing though. I hadn't seen much from that season, link? whoops wrong game.

Ultra/Queen/Infest is ok (Dark/Fanta, Morrow/Petraeus) Vipers too. But that isn't really breaking turtle mech, and is rather facing it lategame, which isn't what viOlet was going for anyhow. you don't break him, you just deny the 5th/6th bases where he doesn't have a bajillion turrets and 2 pfs. on the other hand if your eco gets denied you're screwed because your composition is so expansive. Oh yeah I agree. Feels similar to Protoss vs swarmhost actually.
yep, impossible to attack in static defenses in lategame scenario. You see this happen in most mu from time to time.

a lot of them are. Or maybe they do exist, but you need to search through their byzantium youtube channel for something they may have never uploaded.

Are you talking about the game that won AxAcer the championship GSTL championship? Or was that a TvT? I just remember it being an epic game close to the end of the GSTL's life

The TvT game was the dual ace matches between Supernova and Inno. Those exist.
I was talking about the Hyvaa vs Innovation game, which was on a regular play day. Those do not exist.

Somebody needs to pay gom a bunch of money to recover those vods

ah a shame, still the fact that hyvaa took an Innovation on top of the world and nearly beat him at his own game sounds incredible.

Its really strange that gom would get rid of vods from round 1 but still have the finals

GG Marinelord ! Great comeback. I hope he will be able to do well in Toronto now that he has experienced a first offline important tournament. He seemed so nervous, it looks like he was litteraly about to puke before the first BO3.
Ret and Mlord was my heart choice but I feel sad for viOlet, he deserved probably better after all his struggles lately.

Are you refering to Maru vs Life SPL 2015 round 2 playoff semis on expedition lost?
Because Maru didn't play turtle mech at all. He was actually agressive with a blue flame timing followed by a 140-150 pop push.
Moreover, Life was just caught totally off guard, scouting mech extremly late and failing to adapt in time (i.e. before Maru secured the gold)
It was just good mind game (Maru never palys mech) and flawless execution against an unprepared Zerg; it has nothing to do with the Zerg's ability to break a turtling mech.
You have actually plenty of games to check if you want to see a Zerg breaking mech, and Life did it consistently too.

The openers worked out horribly for Life too he opened 13 pool made 6 ling and did exactly 0 damage vs cc first. Granted suicide hellions for 5 drones helped him a bit but he way too far behind to win without cost efficent stuff
