The current map pool is full of maps that have a ridiculous amount of air-space around the main base/natural and that makes it very easy for Terran players to utilise doom-drops since it's unlikely that Protoss has enough map vision to cover all angles. It's no surprise that Polt is doing so well currently given the fact that the map pool is very favourable towards drops. Polt won on Yeonsu, Alterzim, Polar Night, Daedulus Point and Heavy Rain. Without buffed WMs or nerfed MSCs. A God Tasteless!

Regarding doom drops: between the observers, free hallucinations, super quick flying units (phoenix or oracles), and revelation, there's really no valid excuses for a protoss players to not know where the T army is at all times. And then to pay extra attention when the T gets into a position where he could just load up and go for the doom drop. I'm not saying it's easy, I'm just saying that trying to stop a doom drop when the units are already unloading is a bad approach. Try to force the T to not doom drop seems the better option really. And if he goes for that, then anticipate.
