Congratulations Bunny ! It seems so long since the last Terran foreigner won a tourney, I'm really happy both for him and for Terran fans.

Somehow I doubt Bunny gives a shit if it's premier or not though. The prestige of "winning a premier" is nice, but he's making some serious bank today either way so he doesn't care. The only thing that should be of any relevance when discussing the prestige of a tournament is who you beat. If you win 100k at a local lan that's awesome, but it has nothing on a stacked 5k tournament in terms of prestige. The same logic should apply to the stupid debate about premier. Who was there, who did he play, that's all we should care about. Also WCS points in invite tourneys is a joke. I agree with that last point for sure. I don't understand how it's allowed that 75% of the players were invited yet it's for a lot of WCS points. I seriously think there should be some sort of debate here over that. It completely delegitimizes the idea of a global qualifying process. The points distribution is bad enough as it is, with a random DH being better than a Ro8 finish in the GSL, but this just makes it utterly random and arbitrary. WCS has nothing to do with actual fair competition in this format.

Well everyone is pretty much in agreement that the points were silly so there's not much debate to be had.

HSC is the most glaring example of a tournament that should not be Premier nor have access to as many WCS points. The amount of invites is insane and makes the tournament organizer a major kingmaker in who gets access to Blizzcon and who does not, based on who they invite. 25% qualifiers with only 6% qualifier access for Korean players should by all rights not be anywhere near enough to qualify for any amount of WCS points.
GSL should also grant more WCS points compared to WCS Europe and America, because the level of play there is a fuckton higher, yet its not the case which is a major fuck you towards Korea in terms of Blizzcon. We will never get a perfectly fair system.

Yeah, I agree with you on that. Premier tournaments and WCS points are two seperate subjects in my opinion though. The distinction came way before WCS started and I think even an invite only tournament could be considered premier as long as the tournament is stacked enough.

We will never get a perfectly fair system. the problem is that the korean scene always was one where you only had 1 or at most 2 big tournaments. korea is in desperate need of a higher tournament saturation for the locale players without unreasonably high transportcosts. the need something besides GSL, especially since OSL seems to be dead aswell.

Now I am sulking yes we can. it means that non koreans, just like koreans, are at least able to win tournaments. this is the first tournament win for a foreign terran where koreans where involved since thorzain's 2012 dreamhackwin, which was preceded by his TSL3 win 2011.
Stephano (NASL 3) mana (DH summer 2012) nerchio (DH bucharest 2012) snute (seatstory cup 2014) at least have won tournaments with koreans after Thorzain.
Don't forget
edit : added stephano's nasl...
