A "bonjwa" that has never won (or made the finals of) a Korean tournament, who plays in arguably the easiest WCS region and who has never managed to win that either. Right. He might be the best Terran right now and one of the best week-end tournament player ever but he's not anywhere close to being a bonjwa.

He is still beating those same Koreans that are playing in GSL consistently, and WCS NA is full of good Korean players.

Here's the top players still left EU vs NA. NA: Pigbaby, Oz, Hyun, Alicia, Nestea, Bomber, Polt, Check, Taeja, Violet EU: San, MC, Welmu, Vortex, Golden, forGG, First, Stardust I think Taeja, Polt, Bomber, Hyun outclass the rest.

"beating koreans that are playing in GSL consistently" Like Oz, Patience, Jaedong and Hero? Sry, but there are 2 groups of koreans right now, the ones that compete in gsl and everyone else. That doesn't mean that the "foreign koreans" (haha so silly, but whatever^^) can't compete at all, but in general they are worse.

They are maybe a little bit behind, but if you remember, what happened to TY (ro16 loss to MC) , RorO (ro32 loss to Welmu), Flash (ro 32 loss to YugiOh, MMA, getting stomped by DIMAGA in ro64) etc, when they entered the DH, you should see, that this is an incredible achievment from Taeja. Even Life, Inno and co. droped a few maps during their last DH runs.

KR GM is almost all kespa but taeja does terrible in korean ladder. But then again ladder not equal to tournament

Also i don't think it is a fair comparison, these guys never had to travel much, i am pretty sure that they would do a lot better if they got more chances. I mean i think he could compete in korea, but i am pretty sure he would not be extremely consistent.

I can fully understand being disappointed when your favorite loses, but if no other Starcraft is interesting to you I'm not sure what is going on there It's more about being tired of the same people winning over and over. Not enjoying Protoss is also due to the fact that they've been fairly dominant the last 12 months. Around the time Hots came out, I loved it when a Protoss got far in a tournament. It was something you rarely saw. JD going out was more about the last zerg, than him in particular. I just don't enjoy watching TaeJa win. On the flipside, in GSL, Terrans are more than welcome. It's not something you choose really. Its just what happens to entertain you and make you want to watch SC2. Right now, TaeJa and Protoss isn't doing that for me. I think it comes down to variety. I don't play SC2 myself and I don't just have a few favorite players. I have a big bunch of players in all races that I like and root for, but I don't want either of them to win too much. I want to see different players and different races to contend and win. It's just something i can hope for of course. I don't hate TaeJa and Zest for being such good players, but it makes me lose interest when he goes 17-0 in a tournament, just after winning HSC and whatnot.

But then again ladder not equal to tournament TaeJa being good at foreign and foreign-KR heavy tournaments, and Kespa players not performing as well, might have to do with playstyles. Someone mentioned TaeJa struggled or would struggle in KR ladder. That may be right, given that he doesn't play on it regularly. You get good against the players you face regularly. In KR, they play eachother all the time in GSL and SPL. Kespa players go to foreign tournaments, and are suddenly faced with different metagame. Not that it renders the players gold league at that, but maybe enough to lose a couple of maps, which is enough to drop out of a tournament. As long as we don't have everyone playing together on a regular basis, it's really hard to decide who is better. The largest tournaments, which has some Kespa presence (Blizzcon), are perhaps the best estimation, but that's still just one tournament. One or two bad matches and you are out.
