Sorry but i havent followed hots that closely, but what is the rng on them? All i know is that you burrow them and they shoot, and well you can micro it to target a certain enemy or micro it to not shot by changing the enemy before the rocket is released... I kinda felt that ryung got way too greedy on getting the win, game 2 showed it quite well with the 3rd without any scv behind.

I'm mostly guessing here but some of the issue is probably 1) no visual indicator for target, which means in a zerg army it's hard to tell which ones you need to 'micro' 2) Relatively short range +launch delay means it's very likely to hit your own units 3) especially against zerglings and zealots, it's very easy to trigger a "misfire" since both Z's are very inexpensive and quick melee units. Compared to tanks which need drops or get at least a shot or two off against lings as they run in, mines are always always very hit or miss

(sorry havent played in a long time, stopped caring about playing after the single player campaign but i like watching competitive matches) and when you target an enemy you see a target symbol just like on the WoL mining mission? (the red aiming reticule) Well vulture mines also had some delay on attacking, i loved those crazy bastards ![]()

I have always thought they were a badly designed unit. They are too unpredictable and can rob as many games from you as they can from the enemy. They are units which are a cheap thrill for the viewer and an apparently necessary roll of the dice for the person using them. Other units in sc2 do not have such randomness and as far as I am concerned, they should be reworked.

Well what about starcraft1 where you had a lot of rng and possible changers and sort of "cliffhangers", I must admit I loved those moments where the reaver scarab would get to the miner line and take everything from the enemy or just pop out of nowhere but yeah I get your point. But well it wouldn't be fun taking out a unit because it has a possible rng component but what do I know.

I would agree that making them *slightly* easier to control would be good.

This isn't Starcraft 1, I never followed Starcraft 1 and it's hard for me to care about it in the context of 2014. I don't think RNG has any place in this game and since it's no-where else, the Widow mine is the exception rather than the rule. Whatever, I guess we can just blame Avilo for wasting everyone's time as usual and Ryung for being a dumbass and not getting any sleep. Sorry I'm just pissed off, between the Protoss bullshit and mines blowing up your own shit the game is more frustrating than ever to watch.
