Sorry, but I don't find tanks more interesting than SH. Both are used for turtling, both can be fun when you see them positioned correctly, both are pretty boring if they just sit and fortify. Thats my opinion, of course, but I really cannot see how can you find tanks "cool" and hate SH at the same time. O.o

They don't get to sit behind walls of infinitely respawning free units.

Well tanks only sit and fortify whole game in mech TvZ. TvT for example never gets that boring (at least not for me). But I also saw some interesting mech TvZs. For example the way Flash played mech against DRG and some other zerg before him. Using small squads of tanks and thors to snipe bases etc. Not passive at all.

Though I just feel it wrong, that there are free units. No energy, no mineral cost(Carriers), just sending wave after wave after wave at "no cost". I just see there Zapp Brannigan - I was sending waves after waves of my men until killbots(=mech/protoss) reach their kill limit and turn themselves off. And I don't think that Futurama should be in SC2 (and hell I love Futurama) No its ok! Because its the only thing that zerg can do its ok to abuse it and its good because it will never be patched. Tempest change will do nothing and zergs will soon learn that this composition unstoppable, buts its ok because just like infestor/broodloard zergs have to other choice, right? If they only buff mutas, ultras, infestors and zerglings zergs might consider doing something else. Can you please try playing a game vs turtle mech or skytoss without swarmhosts without some sarcastic shit like this? Thanks I want to play a turtle zerg first but I just cannot find one? They only make mobile units that cost money I cant hardcounter because they might go mass muta and kill my thors. Maybe watch avilo to learn a mass turret and pf style. You can refine your sarcasm that way as well
Who is avilo? Please do not assume that I was sarcastic I really want zerg to be buffed so that we can have what we always wanted. The removal of protoss as a race in sc2 and the fixing of terran mech units. Sure we will have ZvZ in all semi and finals for a couple of years, but I don't think anyone will complain.

You think we would have games like SK vs. Reality if zergs had some other unit to combat mech instead of SH. SH are the problem because they block movement of ground units so you have no choice but to turtle to sky terran army.

Placing tank lines is like chess.... Placing swarm hosts are nothing similar...

Swarm hosts amazing, yes? as an idea warhound probably worse Immortal is definitely worse. That ********* unit reduces players creativy in TvP. and worst idea ever for SC2 is warp gates -____- The warpgate idea isn't really any different than nydus. Just the implementation is different. If you could kill a pylon being made with 4 workers in <15 seconds, and the pylon cost gas, and it required some form of "loading up" the units then yeh you'd be right. Now you're looking at details. The only real difference the transport via WG is direct and the nydus is indirect.

Soulkey is out, my GSL watching for the day is done. GL Sora, but I'm all PvP and PvZ'd out.

Cool idea for the swarm host. What if you had to load zerglings into them to create locusts? the locusts could be more powerful or something to cover the cost, but it would be neat and would completely remove the "free units" problem

I think mech changed a lot with the latest patches. Before mech was very much focused on timing attacks, á la Flash or MVP. With the changes to upgrades with air and ground Terran can turtle with their mech will transitioning to an air army in a split map scenario. It just wasn't that viable versus Zerg before. So now you don't -have- to do the mech timing attacks you had to before (which often were Protosss-esque one-battle-and-the-game-is-over style fights).

They fill quite similar roles, imo.
