Vipers are Hive tech and cost 200 gas a piece, fielding them against M^4 is hard to do while also keeping up baneling production and upgrades. 2. Bio units are super mobile and aren't really effected much by Blinding Cloud especially since a single 200 gas Viper can only cast 2 of them at a time. 3. Fungal Growth basically accomplishes everything that Blinding Cloud does vs Bio only for cheaper and less tech. Blinding Cloud is imo a stupid ability. It punishes Mech too hard and doesn't do shit vs anything else.

You gotta play so careful and just restart all the time. It's a setting now, so player choice. Does it work well in Fire Emblem? Hardcore Diablo was kind of sad, as it mostly degenerated into endless farming to prepare your character for the next risky endeavour. That, and how you were mostly forced to settle into highly-optimized, tedious routines of spells/actions for anything but the most trivial engagements. It works really well, it makes you think strategically and you have to be aware of every enemy and their weapons at every point of the game. But it only applies in the higher difficulties, you can do practically everything on the lower difficulties, but playing on Hard is where the fun starts. And I think the non-permadeath setting is stupid

Hardcore Diablo was kind of sad, as it mostly degenerated into endless farming to prepare your character for the next risky endeavour. That, and how you were mostly forced to settle into highly-optimized, tedious routines of spells/actions for anything but the most trivial engagements. If you mean the normal permadeath mechanic, it works pretty well. Without the risk of death the game becomes pretty... a-movey for lack of a better phrase. A lot of the strategy comes from figuring out exactly how much you can handle before you get overwhelmed. If you can just throw your guys at the opponents over and over again, it just becomes a different game. An important thing to note is that if you do have a character die, you can just start the mission over. So it's not quite as crazy as hardcore diablo. It can definitely be frustrating at times, but it's a lot of fun.
