Scarlett defended that Proxy Reaper rush quite well" and suddenly she was so far behind. Didn't really expect it to be so easy to transition out of such a proxy play. To me it kinda looked like the reapers and hellions just kept her up her ramp and she didn't take that other 3rd either (with all the stuff from Bomber out on the map). Bomber was preparing to get his 4th when Scarlett struggled to get her 3rd

Really glad Scarlett played that so well. Even though she's out she showed that some foreigners aren't pushovers. Still gonna watch tomorrow. JD and Taeja are interesting enough to make me watch their games.
Fantastic day for Starcraft, hats off to the ESl guys this tournament was already amazing.

yeah, wouldn't mind hearing her thoughts.. it was a pretty good defend afterall.

Always sad for the scene when the last foreigner is knocked out. Oh well, time for next season.

That is exactly why people are complaining! Bomber did an amazing job, had a nice lead, but then two Widow Mine hits ended the game! Those hits didn't showcase his skills. But those two widow mines were pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Bomber getting his third up so fast while containing Scarlett on two bases with no creep spread is what won it. It was an insane lead. You're right. But it is like this: Imagine a football game where one side (I'll call them Bombers) has the lead, but the last time the teams played it looks similar, and the other side (Scarletts) made an awesome comeback and won. So the Bombers have the lead, but Scarletts have a great quarterback capable of making a comeback, we know that because it happened last game. Tense game, very exciting. Then the Scarletts quarterback trips over a linemen and breaks his ankle. Bombers go on to an easy victory, game over. That is what happened, and it is anti-climatic. I'm not sure you know it, but each widow mine of terran is actually a part of the terran army, not some random occurance. Infact WMs are probably the most vital unit in that army composition, since terran can't really deal with mutas and these insane number of banelings anymore. I won't disagree that I'd rather want rine tank back, but that's besides the point, without the WMs terran pretty much sucks in TvZ.
Edit: And ontop of that, those WMs didn't really matter, the game was over already unless bomber failed pretty hardcore, which while possible is unlikely(to the extend required to actually loose the game).

Agreed. The following from Bomber was so strong though.

Yes, and moving with your legs is a vital part of football. Plenty of people have tripped and cost their team the game. It is a pretty anti-climatic ending compared to what could have been, because it is a simple stupid mistake. Flying your Mutalisks into Widows Mines is the same thing.
And you illustrate the problem well. Widow Mines are not only the most vital damage dealer for Terran, but a very important one for Zerg too. They eat Marines alive, and that is what sparked Scarletts comeback in Game 4.

Did you miss the part where Bomber had 3/3 and a fully saturated fourth orbital when Scarlett had barely anything at her fourth? "trips over a linemen and breaks his ankle". It was over within a minute or two anyways. She got outplayed, stop crying and deal with it.

I have never seen someone not shake hands right after a Tennis match. Be it the small town tournaments i used to play as a kid or the biggest grandslam finals of your live. Pretty sure dreams got crushed there as well. Losing a hard or important game always feels bad.
I don't think shaking hands with the winner afterwards adds or subtract to that. It's just good sportsmanship and shows appreciation for their skills on both sides.

No I didn't miss that part, which is why I said the Bombers have the lead.
And maybe she wouldn't have made the comeback. Maybe not. How many people said GG in this thread after Bomber roasted all the Drones in Game 4? And that's the point. It could have been more epic and showcased skill. But instead the game ended in a silly way. We've seen amazing comebacks in football and SC2. And we've seen anti-climatic endings. This was the latter.
And I had no horse in this race man. I like Bomber and hope he wins it all.

In fencing after every bout, both players immediately salute each other and shake hands before even signing the official results sheet.

having two foreigners advande to round of eight in a tournament as stacked as this? I dunno Im fine with the top being korean as long as the other regions can take games from them (and they can, Scarlett was close to a semifinal and Naniwa took down Innovation and Duckdeok (wich he lost to earlier but anyway))
