It's not only that they have no reason to, it's actually counter productive.
Bio units don't share upgrades with BCs and Thors, Zerg and Protoss ground forces DO share upgrades with Tier 3 units.
Thors and BCs are incredibly immobile, Bio's greatest strength is its mobility.
The reasons go on and on.
Terran is designed that way. If you're playing Bio, you're playing Bio supported by Starport support units like Medivacs, Vikings and occasionally Ravens.
If you're playing Mech you're playing Mech.
They are not meant to be mixed together.
Well it would be nice to actually see some more mech then is what I mean or having some reason to go BCs more often than the never happening now. Seeing BCs as a transition out of Bio would be nice. It isnt like it wouldnt be possible if it were a useful unit in this matchup.
I'd love to see more Mech too. Unfortunately Blizzard has seen fit to keep putting units like Immortal and the Viper into the game that hard counter the crap out of Siege Tanks for no reason, making Bio a much superior overall playstyle.
So long as Bio continues to be the style that performs the best at the top level the pros will keep sticking with it.

that is because people who understand the game know how much better symbol is. Just didnt workout today.
I dunno man, I've always felt that Symbol was riding on the back of patchzerg and roach nydus play.
I mean I think he's solid as fuck, but I've never seen that spark in him that is so clear to me when I watch someone like Soulkey play.
Maru played like a beast today though, no doubt about it.
So much this.
Symbol never gives off that "perfect" vibe that a lot of other Zergs do. And the number of fanboys on TL forums overhyping him last year, despite being THE winfestor zerg, hurt my heart beyond recovery.
Yeah we get now calm down xD. You're the same guy who said "any prediction on symbol is idiotic"

Even in TvT they wanted to introduce a "Siege Tank breaker". So much hate for the unit.

Yeah immortals are in there for no reason except you know... for the fact that Toss couldnt win a game against zerg without at least the threat of an immortal, sentry push.

If you watched him during his allkill run, right before he was reverse swept by seed he looked better then any player in the world by a massive margin. Perfect macro, didn't just broodlord infestor, excellent creep spread, and always seemed to make the right choices.

I think it is unfair to call symbol patchzerg at this point. Jut look at his results in Hots. He is most consistant player there is, but he always falls short.
Oh I don't think that he really is. I've been watching Symbol since he first emerged in the SC2 scene, and like I said he's solid and consistent, but I feel like his play is fairly one dimensional.
Pre seed loss he was on the map and aggressive, he used pretty much every unit available and was iirc the only zerg that actually used neural parasite in games. Post seed loss it was nothing but broodlord infestor.

If you're playing mech, a slight misplay might cost you the game, and I mean really damn slight.
In TvT mech vs bio, bio terran is expected to transition to sky terran eventually, but mech vs bio TvT was really rare these days(for some obvious reasons), although we could expect more of that good stuff in the nearby future.
