So what is this rule that a player outside the ace match can play twice? I only read that they are modeling this off Proleague, but there a player cannot play twice unless it is the ace match.

A player can play twice but that player can't be used for the ace I believe.

It's a rule to help the teams with smaller rosters. For example TL wanted to use Zenio instead of HerO twice, but he couldn't play.
I dunno much about the league itself. I like watching good matches tho, but a question. Why GTSL, PL, ATC and now this 1 too? whats the difference between sc2l and the others?

Different format, different teams, different times/casters. The more sc2 the better ^_^

Only 1 player each set tho.
Is this rule written down somewhere so it could be referenced on Liquipedia and such? All I could find on their official website at www.sc2l.gg is the following on the About page:
The format of the league follows a team versus team approach. Within this team versus team setup, seven players go head to head with an opposing seven players with the goal of defeating their singular opponent in a one-vs-one best-of-one match-up. The first team to win four best-of-one matches is declared the match winner.

You mean like in the startoff match Liquid vs ROOT where YugiOh played twice despite ROOT having a 16-player roster?

Of course bigger teams can "abuse" that rule. Or ROOT had no other players available, I remember in ATC they once had to play with only 4 players available.
It being the weekend and all I was actually going to watch some of this, but after watching the minimal UI for so long having 40%+ of the screen covered in overlays is unwatchable

It doesn't have to be Gameheart. But I agree that the current overlay is covering up A LOT of screen real estate. Maybe they could work on it a little, maybe by removing at least the blue padding around the overlay elements as a first step.

I think someone from EG said in one of the earlier threads they were working on changing it, they had a custom UI they had made but it didn't work as well as they wanted so they are using this atm.

I miss Gameheart. It was awesome while it lasted. Ditto; the overlay is a bit much. And I don't care for look of the caster desk. Is it just me? Seems silly, like it's a radio talk show.

Maybe if you pre-order 950 D-Link Gaming Routers, at least the bar will disappear.
just curious...how come it takes protoss 100x longer to kill a zerg who makes multiple mistakes, rather than a toss who makes one and loses instantly? :\

It's not like Mana was really far ahead. And his army composition could've been better. The fact that the mutas didn't die in that big engagement was huge, that's what kept paranoid in the game.

Like no offense to some of the other Acer members, but I think they would have wanted Nerchio or Scarlett to play twice instead of some of the other members playing at all.

why tempest ? isn't the carrier the better answer? Havinglocusts they got interceptors out all the time, vipers cannot get near them due to the interceptors. You got the time and money t get them hmm /nevermind got no ideas

Well, it´s mostly true. It´s just Scarletts playstyle, in WoL she mostly turtled BL/infestor, now it´s SH/Corruptor/BL/Viper. She does it well, but it is incredibly boring.
Oh maaan I would be soooo happy if Scarlett lost that... would serve her well for playing that ultra boring style. (hope I don't get banned for being honest ^^')
why is incontrol talking about the difference between bly and scarlett, the difference between illusion and scarlett would be better. they are worlds apart, would have prefered hasu over illusion. meh but acer is also a nice team
Someone in twitch chat brought up that DJWheat sounds like he's high... now I can't even watch this without hearing his stoner inflection... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh x.x

Silly thing to say. Regardless of what you feel about the preorder campaign, D-Link is a large and well-respected company trying to get into eSports. That's not a bad thing. I'm stoked.

Have they done any product demos yet on stream? They will need to do more of those. Routers in bigger household are more important than a household with only 1-3 devices connecting.

How's that a silly thing to say? Routers are like dead last on the list for a gaming set-up... I only said I wished they had gotten something more popular, so that it would sell more often and crank up the prize pool...
wow, ret threw away his big lead when he was up 50 supply. He lost today in the team league to quantic and yesterday to millenium. Team leagues the bane of ret?
Wow. Taeja needs to be HEAVILY reprimanded for what he just did.
Turning into Idra should not be acceptable here. He had the game won (maybe not won, but he appeared ahead) and just appears to quit for no reason whatsoever.
Given the Lucifron spam, maybe there was just a lot of lag with cross-server play? I have no clue why he just up and left, TaeJa isn't the kind of player to gg early I feel like.

I'm very curious to hear from Taeja on this . . . if there is a legitimate reason for it (I can't think of any possible legitimate reason) . . . I've never seen a Korean GG this early before.

Jesus guys, calm down. It's clear that Taeja was wrong to leave the game. Maybe he looked at his main, didn't see any SCVs and thought hellbats had ravaged the base when he wasn't looking? (We know that wasn't the case, they SCVs were down at the natural, but maybe he thought he had lost his economy) Maybe he thought he was dead, so he GGed? If that's the case, I bet he looked at the replay after the fact and realized he made a big mistake "WTF did I just do?!"
Why assume the worst of Taeja right off the bat? It's that pitchfork mentality again.

He quit the deciding game of an important team league series . . . costing his entire team and everyone who participated a loss for no apparent good reason. There's money on the line here for the entire team. Definitely deserves investigating to find out what happened, and possibly consequences if it turns out to be an emo issue (aka Idra-style).
very well might have been a mistake or a simple mis-reading of his position in the game. he plays thousands of them, i think he can be allowed to have a single miscall in his career. when it becomes a common occurrence (idra) is when it truly becomes an issue worthy of reprimands

Well, I would at least like an explanation and apology from Taeja. Taeja usually likes to stay to the bitter end. I just want to know what happened. He was even in the game and maybe a little ahead because he had his third cc already on the way.

Not to mention plenty of SCV's that were not under threat. Something is really wrong with that game . . . just off. I don't think there's any way he could have actually thought he had lost. Not unless he was on mushrooms or something. o0

Please, don't even try to justify it . . .
Let's just wait to hear from Taeja and TL on what happened.
Just wow, so sad. I don't wanna talk smack about the TL players but it hurts too much not to. The truth is our foreign contingent performed yet again, losing to foreigners no less. Ret had a lead, Snute had a lead and they both lost it amazingly. TLO just played goofy. He is 0-2 in SC2L and 0-4 in ATC for TL. I miss Sheth who use to score incredible kills in team league. Taeja left a game unnecessarily, he was even in supply at 67, had 2 hellbats on the way to defending the 2 hellbats in his main, had a medivac going into Lucifron's undefended main and was down like 7 workers. I have to say with his micro he would have a really good chance there, he just got tired of hellbat drops. TL is 0-2 in a 7 match teamleague and they still haven't played teams like EG, Axiom and Acer. I am ever hopeful but chances for playoffs and a Bucharest appearance just got very low. And not because Mouz or ROOT are better, sadly
So upset. I hope Taeja if not TL says something about why he left that game. Even if he would have been behind, in the ace match you stick it out. If his wrists hurt from too much play, consider another ace, maybe even a cheesy one.
On July 14 2013 21:54 SinCitta wrote: The TL foreigners have improved over the last weeks. Surely they will post better results in this league as the games catch up with the present.
No, team league bo1 is different from bo3 individual. I'm not saying they are not good, right now TLO and Snute are top 5 and top 2 foreigner zergs imo but in team league...
Gratz Mouz! Tunred out after the acer macth (it was like 3-4 a.m.), nice to see, that they defeated Liquid and that Hasu is 3-0 now. And TL fans, do´nt be to sad; thius league has a system, where you get a point for each won map, so with losing in the ace match 2 times, TL has still good chances.
Wow mouz doing great and Hasu is in top form, really doing work as the captain . As Acer is my second favourite team I am happy for them too, hope they will both make the palyoffs.

Didn't really see a good way to contact sc2l.gg for suggestions. Just a minor suggestion for your Results & VoD section. There should *always* be a slot for ace match and the players for the ace match should be hidden unless the "show results" button has been pressed.
With the current style, you already know if it came down to an ace match or not and even who played the ace match before you have watched a single moment of the VoD. Would be a nice little change to make it a little more difficult to guess the final results since it's super-easy to spoil even if you're just looking at the player lineup before pressing "watch."
If you also padded your VoDs with something in the case of matches that weren't played, you wouldn't even be able to guess results based upon how much longer the video is running.
Just a few suggestions to make it more exciting to watch these from VoD format. Midnight EST is a bit too late to *begin* watching this live for those of us with M-F/9-5 jobs.
Totally happy with this league so far though! Thanks for creating it!
