If not, they'll chill where they're at until commanded. If you just drop them out of range without moving, they'll also just hang out until commanded.

not really. I think he underestimated the armysize of ryung after that scv-slaughter. He wanted to tech fast to ultras to seal the win, but ruyngs army was still very large. There wasnt much he could do different except using the mutas for drops and the groundarmy for defence.
After the slaughter of scv's he was behind in armysupply alot.
