Especially if people keep posting nonsense defending the Korean's participation in the other regions as "I just wanna see the best games", without considering that it's literally destroying Starcraft's potential for strong American viewership.

IMHO this should never be about race, but their long-time living location. Blizzard needs to be very sensitive about this. And even if I might get some flank on this, Nestea playing for the US is not something I would like to see. If he cannot compete in Korea anymore, he needs to improve his game and not play for other regions.


Not sure where you got the idea it was about race. By Korean I'm sure everyone is meaning nationality. I agree that residency is the ticket to fixing this.

For example: any resident of a region can participate in said region. Blizzard claims the legalities of proving residency are "too difficult", but that to me is absolute rubbish. As an immigrant myself, it's clear that to be a "resident" of a country you should have some form of ID that proves you are a resident. I mean first off, who on earth would be a resident in a country and not have basic, portable identification to prove it? Second, if for some odd reason a person is actually "unable to prove residency" in their region, then the responsibility lies on said person to obtain the ID. Am I missing something here?

The racial comment actually wasn't directed at you, I just mentioned that, so that no one would get the wrong idea when I commented on the situation in general.

I agree with everything you just said. There is one rare case, like MC, who plays in the EU, but if I'm not completely mistaken, he's still a korean resident (ID)?
