How did Effort take out Parting?

Parting went soul train, effort delayed enough to get mutas out while going for counter with roaches which killed the natural. Parting didn't reinforce his main immortal army with anti air so it got wiped. 1 base v 1 base Parting chose to try to kill the third of effort instead of defending. Parting used hallucinated stalkers which prompted spine crawlers which might have costed him the game when he pushed out and got his ramp broken by effort.

I'm still wondering why people don't go tanks in the early game then switch to WMs in the mid-lategame so that they can be safe early and their tanks can take out single lings before WMs detonate on them.

Maybe it's a terrible idea, but it seems to work in theorycrafting-land.

No, that wasn't outmacro. It's the roach-hydra timing. You cannot have enough MMMM to deal with it. You either swap WM for Tanks or sit in your base behind bunkers until nearly maxed.

he was floating resources like he always does, he could have had 20 more army supply if he hit his production as well as flash and innovation do.

lol a bit unreasonable for him to macro like those two no?

Sounds like a re-run of Curious vs Parting.

"tanks in the early game"

there's your theorycrafting error.

It's not that he doesn't macro as well as them, he just macros really poorly in general and It's been a constant theme of his since he switched to sc2.

What? It's pretty easy to get a tank or two out in time for an early push without delaying other tech too much.

Because going early game tank
gives you no aggressive potential
it is more expensive
requires a Techlab
Is less mobile, this kind of ties into the first point.

Because terrans are greedy, and they want to have upgrades as fast as a zerg does.

So they lose to all-ins. And thats good.

I think that it's just because widow mines are strictly better than tanks at all stages of the game. Unlike tanks, one big mine hit on a pack of lings or better banes can simply end the game. Also, mines hit mutas. The margin of error for zergs playing v mines is incredibly small. Tanks are only better in specific situations now...pretty much just roaches.

This was true in the past but Zergs have been forced to learn to micro and now regularly bait the mines. Tanks again look required.

As mentioned above, Terrans are just being comically greedy ATM. Double engi, 3cc..crazy stuff. They rarely have enough forces to hold an allin, so they thoroughly deserve it.

If the zerg is all-inning (ling/bane, ling/bane/roach, roach/hydra), widow mines are terrible defensively.

But we'll need some time for terrans to realize that. During this time, they'll 3CC all their game and lose to all-ins until they understand they need tanks.
