man i cant believe proleague gets this little attention? it might very well be the tourney with the highest level of play involved, miles ahead of any non korean wcs at least. english stream 3k viewers, thats just sad

Its true, Proleague has alot higher level of play than gstl, and potentially as much as the later stages of Code S. It's a shame really...

When you clump your probes like that...
Oh you mean it's normal having to split each probe separate ways vs D + click, box, right click/A + click? Let's not forget, you need 5+ stalkers to clean up/chase away the drop relatively quickly.

The English production has driven people away and judging from the numerous closed threads about the english casters (I am not one of the haters before I am attacked) the casters aren't well liked either.

They have done an awful job at marketing this to an English audience tbh.
They get a lot better numbers with more popular teams, EG-TL will get 10k+ I'm sure.

Aside from SKT and KT old fans, WJS has picked up the most SC2 fans I think.

Well, the venue is always empty except SKT vs KT. So you know that it's not just the stream views. It's very bad.

It's a combination of poor marketing and, don't mean to be rude, but... less than stellar casters. All of the team's sponsors are in Korea though, so it's understandable that the foreign audience doesn't mean 2 fucks to them.

Do the viewers think Proleague betrayed them by switching to SC2?
Games are good, I'm assuming the Korean production is good, popular players...

well i am expecting koreans to pay little attention as sc2 seems to be in a rough state there fanbase wise...which is why i guess it would be even more important for proleague to get the stream viewership it deserves.
the casters may not have a big amount of knowledge (cant judge yet but thats what most people complain about) but they are far from too annoying to watch it, and the rest of the production is pretty flawless.

people are more and more attracted with high level play imo. PL just need 3 very good non kor casters* and a better vod service to shine among foreigners.

*apollo, rotterdam, tod
actually I believe PL has the best vod service as they are free, hd and available almost immediately after the match.

Hellbats are f***ing stupid.
Zergs have been doing this for years. Protoss will figure out how to mice vs aoe drops soon enough.
From my experience Protoss are the fastest at reacting to drops, because from years of being dropped if 1 gets decent damage you likely lose the game. Zerg however are better at splitting workers because they are the main victim of hellion harass in WOL. Unfortunately, I'd say terrans are the worst at reacting to drops because they are usually the droppers, not the droppees. This is just a general consensus however lol, every player is different, and even top players can have an off moment and miss react to a drop.
Basically now all the races have to split sometimes, seems fair. It's just all of us got used to terrans "automatically" splitting bio, whereas it's actually a hard technique to master.

Haha yeah, as a toss, I wish i got more opportunities to split, but since our units are so physically large, if i split them up they can't all fit in the battle because they take up too much space >< Also stim makes splitting more efficient
I normally don't complain about casters, but I fricken hate when they talk about the game like they're pros, at the start they were like, "What is free doing, he won't be able to do anything against those VRs, his so far behind". When his build was perfect, then when he wins. "Yeah Free was to far ahead and had a better army". Goddamn I can't stand these 2

Kespa is in a weird spot where there is an excess of good to very good protoss players, while the small group of elite players are mostly zerg and terran. It results in Proleague being dominate by protoss while individual leagues are still zerg/terran heavy.

I know but the wonder is that why Kespa has more good to great protoss.

I'd say Sun, Parting and Shy are just as elite, so protoss' power is pretty uniformly distributed through skill levels in PL.

GSL just takes too long to level out because of the qualifier system and the slow pace of the league. Protoss is definitely under-represented in GSL on both the eSF & Kespa side. Like.. right now we still have a zerg bulk carrying over from end of WoL.

In Broodwar there was no multi building selection so when you wanted to macro you had to go back to your base usually using one of the F keys and click each building and tell it to build something. This skill transfers over very easily to SC2 and the warpgate mechanic with using a key to go back to a pylon then warping in a bunch of shit only it's faster. I would say protoss BW skill transfers over to SC2 the easiest of the three races.

I guess. Maybe Free was betting the opponent wouldn't go DT because it can be scouted so easily?
I dont care what people say, this is still more entertaining than PvZ being relied on one Vortex and mothership core. Great Job for blizzard fixing PvZ Now, they should fix up PvT :<

You know what would be really awesome? A switcharoo for one week. GSL Casters of Eng casting SPL while SPL casters casting GSTL and Code A Think that would be..interesting.

Truly, its clear they've been underperforming in SPL because they havent been fielding a lineup of Thorzain/Huk/Idra/incontrol and Ace player: demuslim all this time. Going with koreans..preposterous!
