If Flash won GSL it would probably catapult SC2 popularity in korea by a lot.
It wouldn't be worth how annoying and obnoxious the Flash fans on this site would get. It would be unbearable.
this. i used to love flash, and now i find myself cheering against him owing to all the nauseating overhype.

I dont really ever have a problem with fanboys... they are pretty easy to recognize and ignore most of the time.

DAE FLASH HWAITING???
This.
You guys forget how fucking awesome Flash's legacy is.
How can you sit there and pretend that hype for Flash isn't a given. He's the BEST player to ever live. I can understand that Flash's fans (including myself) overhype his skills in SC2. He HAS show very good results in SC2 and his improvement is probably one of the fastest (Life admits it himself). A couple months ago, Flash was considered nowhere near Code S level and now he is part of the group of death, considered by many 2nd Terran in the world, and now places among the best in the world (NOT the best, but up there).
Any blind statements that are meant seriously like, "No one can beat Flash, flash won't lose a game" or "He will own this GSL EZPZ" is definitely overhype, but lets not pretend that his legacy doesn't deserve it.
If you are new in SC2 and are like, "Why the fuck is everyone talking about Flash??? The best he's got in SC2 is 2nd place in MLG... why are people comparing him to Gumiho or Bomber or MVS (in his prime). He's got a slim chance at best in this group of death." I'd say, take a look at some of the old BW threads and watch some of the old BW games. SC2 came from BW and Flash was the best BW player ever.

He's not good, famous or hyped enough to induce haters. It's all in your head.
Oh you're that troll that no one takes seriously. Thanks for your unlettered input.
How's that a troll, I am telling it seriously. He's not a champion, he's not famous, not hyped by casters, very few haters compare to other players.
And also, I'm not a native English speaker, please educate me which part of my sentence shows that I'm unlettered. Seriously not joking, my English is poor.
Unlettered doesn't necessarily mean illiterate. It can also mean ignorant/unlearned/uneducated/etc. And he is famous? He's a Korean progamer who's single-handedly acquired his team 'GSTL Champion' status twice (first through an all-kill, then a reverse triple). He has provided us the absolute most entertaining and intense games of SC2 ever witnessed. His multitasking and micro capabilities are unrivaled by any other Terran. And not hyped by casters? Are you for real? The only reason he isn't as much of a fan-favorite is because he didn't want to leave SK to participate in foreign tourneys until he won a GSL. And also because unfortunately the SC2 community is comprised of lots of fags who care more about looks than skill. Your English is fine, but in terms of content, you're just pulling shit from your ass.
Edit: And perhaps instead of 'blind hater' I should've said, 'blind Flash fanboy.'
Sorry to budge in, but the only blind fanboy here is you. Who cares what gumiho showed in WoL? It was a different game and different times, meanwhile in HotS he came out first out of his group and is 1-1 in GSTL. What makes you honestly think that he is better than either innovation or Flash? If he is such an amazing (best?) terran, why has he won 0 individual events, and in his entire career his greatest individual achievement was a mighty single GSL semifinal? Surely his results would be at least slightly better if he was as great as you think he is. Dont get me wrong I like gumi as much as the next guy, but there is like no reason to consider him clearly better than flash and innovation. Thats a little silly.
It's nigh vomit-inducing how grossly overrated Flash and Innovation are right now. Flash knows like one BO and gets slammed by any cheese. Gumi's results put him far ahead of Inno.
What results are you referring to? This is HotS, not WoL. Flash has a second place finish at MLG. Gumiho's all-kill was in 2012. Im not saying Gumiho isn't ridiculously good. Innovation and Flash have shown what they can do many times since HotS has come out. Gumiho hasn't.
This. Even if you believe Flash and Innovation are slightly overhype, Gumiho has nothing that puts him above them.
GSL Ro32 does put Gumiho above Innovation.
Questionable. Yes, Gumiho beat Rain when Innovation lost, but maps and seeing what Rain did against him gives him an edge. Note that innovation went on to 2-0 rain in the end.
When you argue with people and tell them Gumiho is at least as good as Innovation because of how he plays, then people tell you "you have no results to back up your opinion". And when you give them those results, people try to argue that those results mean nothing... The only thing you can argue about is Gumiho's inconsistency, which makes me say that Flash and Innovation are better overall players. But at his best, Gumiho is far better than Flash/Innovation. To be honest, I don't know who can beat Gumiho when he plays his best. And yes, that's my opinion and you can disagree with me.

You cant use a single BO3 against a player that they both played against in the same day but at different times with different maps and circumstances as evidence that one is better than another. Especially when Rain made several mistakes against Gumiho. Gumiho likely wouldve still won the series but maybe not. This is even further complicated by the fact that innovation went on to also 2-0 rain later on. Basically, I am saying it is too early to tell if Gumiho is ahead of innovation.
Gumiho can be really really strong though, I agree. He actually used to impress me a lot more than he has lately. I actually thought he was on track to win the GSL a short while back.
The stream is gunna die when group B plays, I'm willing to bet, highest GSL Ro16 viewership ever.
The other 12 players are probably so happy, at least 2 GSL serious title contenders will be eliminated. Sad that its only BO3, can't we have BO5s please??
Will be interesting to see if Parting can live up to his trash talk and take down life. He's been struggling with Terran turbovacs a bit more recently so wonder if he will get out.
How do the brackets work? Can the two players that advance from this group meet again in the finals or would they face off again in RO4??

Whatever two players advance from Group B can only meet in the finals.
The funny thing is that the chance of someone of group B being the champion is like 70-80% ....Only symbol and roro comes to my mind as someone not group-b with potential to win it
I'm pretty confident with Life and Flash to advance. Life is undoubtedly the best in the world atm and Flash has an edge in TvT against Innovation, he can lose to Life in winner round and beat Innovation again. And Parting? pretty sure he'll get trashed by Life and Inno.
I dont know whos gonna make it out of group B, but i know one thing, you cant open window mines versus Life, you need to get a few tanks before pumping out window mines, because Life just ignore window mines, for him its like a timing push from WOL but without tanks, he just crush terran that way...
He is too good to deal with WM and Hellbat drops...
I think Innovation and Flash are going to make it through if they can play a WOL style vs Life

There's already empirical evidence that legacy shouldn't actually justify any hype (as in, a rich and impressive BW legacy isn't really indicative of how someone will do in SC2). For example, Jaedong and Bisu weren't as dominant as Flash in BW overall, but they certainly are BW greats in their own right, and look at their current abilities in SC2. Jaedong looks pretty good at ZvZ and ZvT, but his ZvP has been a massive Achille's heel for him, while Bisu has been finally putting up some wins, but nothing all too impressive. Certainly not bottom-of-the-barrel, but far from top SC2 players right now. To be fair, there's still a lot of time that needs to pass to tell if they'll start living up to their BW statuses, but so far, they've both been pretty underwhelming given their BW history. And on the other side of the coin, there are players like Rain, Jaehoon, and Roro who were, from what I've heard, merely mediocre-to-good BW players (at least, TLPD seems to support this idea, given sub-50% winrates for Jaehoon and Roro, with Rain sitting right on 50%), yet in SC2 they're all performing extremely well, better than Jaedong or Bisu, being considered the aces of their respective teams (along with Rain and Roro probably being top3 players of their respective races at the moment).
