Interesting statement from a LucifroN preview interview by DreamHack Spain:
Who are the strongest players you see clashing in a hypothetical final?
- In general Koreans are favorites, and regarding foreigners I see Happy as the strongest by far and with possibilities of reaching the final. If I have a good day I think that yes I can make it, but it depends a lot on the opponents I play in the group stages and in the bracket.

Didn´t know they´re doing it, but hoped so. We´re truly getting global competition.
The points system doesn't look right to me. Effectively, the Code A Champion gets 100 points but if you finish 9-12th in a weekend tournament, you get 150 points? What? Code A Champion should be a lot more prestigious (and difficult), no?
Also, Code A 1-12th place all get the same number of WCS points? What are these points going to determine? This seems very, very wrong (i.e. underweighted) for the Challenger league. Has anybody raised this on Reddit, etc.?
Why should Code-A be more prestigious than a tournament with Code S players in it (Gumiho, Leenock, Hyun, etc.)? For the differences in Code A; if they stay at the current format, the winners of round of twelve go directly into Code S and do´nt play out the winner.

One reason is that even Tier 1 tournaments will have some Code S players, yes, but usually just a handful. There will likely be a mixture of some Code S, some Code A, and a bunch of lower ranked players. Such as this Dreamhack, for example.
But I think the real problem is that Code A 1st through 12th all get 100 points only. It basically disadvantages all the Code A (Challenger League) quality players who can't afford to go to these Tier 1 & 2 events for a good shot at picking up WCS points, because they don't have a team that can afford it.
Coca looked pretty bad at the Code A qualifiers. Puzzle at least made the finals of his bracket so there could be some hope for him. Hopefully Coca has practiced some more since then

He just played a bad bo3 in his first off-line event in a long time. We've seen this happen to really good players in Code A qualifiers before. I still think he has the potential to do really well.

time for another energy drink. Kidneys forgive me
Don't be too hard on your body man, I mean the first group phase will probably not be that interesting. There are 2 unknown swedish players in each group, so we kind of already know who's coming out on top.
Put your alarm clock to wake up in 7 hours for Group Stage 2 when things will be really interesting
