yeah...the 3rd most winning, and one of the msot innovative terrans in Sc2 is everything wrong with the game....so mad
if your game allows this kind of mass tier 1 unit strat to have this much success, your game is pretty sad.
the first 2 builds MKP did are terrible and only worked because herO played poorly, not because of bad game design. edit: the 2nd game the build didn't even work well.

The game allows for people not scouting and responding properly to something to be punished.
You're cray cray. NR20 games are the most exciting things to watch. The game should auto gg you out unless you don't attack for the first 20 and promise to make at least 1 of every unit for diversity like a good rts player.

precisely. dumb player with a singular build that still can make the finals of a tournament. his result should not be this good given his deficiencies

what the fuck are you even talking about? he did different builds each game, and it's perfectly reasonable to bust out old gimmick builds against kespa players that are basically asking "have you seen/practiced stoping this?". herO played bad, lost, the end.

I hear ya man. That noob life makes nothing but lings and wins. Ling runbys make for boring games man! Damn tier 1 units ruining sc 2 man! Someone start a petition against them!
Blizzard should just remove all tier 1 units from the game. Keep the barracks, spawning pool, gateway as part of the tech tree, just take out the units.
I guess I can see the haters point. If you can win with just T1 units and your name is MarineKing then honestly, you are just like a CPU player set on extremely insane, nothing creative or fun about watching it.
Still IMO MarineKing is a total baller, don't listen to tha hatas man, put those gigantic white hipster glasses on and ride off into the sunset.

What is really funny about this is that MairneKing would've actually ended up being better at Brood War than he is at SC2 because his mechanics would have counted for so much more. So, he is complaining that there is something wrong with "your game" when, if SC2 hadn't come out and MKP had spent the last two years on BW, the result would have probably been the same in "his game".
Hah.
Also, I think this answers the question "If a StarCraft tournament is played when no one is watching, is there really a winner?"
And then click herO for the 2nd place winner, it gives you Liquid_HerO and not CJ_herO, anyone mind fixing? o___o
There's a reason he uses the name herO[jOin] and doesn't just go by his chosen handle like most of the others. There already was a prominent Brood War player named hero. Don't know why all the graphics and stuff for this tournament just say "herO" when there's yet another player using that name in SC2. I guess some people feel comfortable telling them apart by capitalization alone. But it leads to problems like this.

Well said. The best part about this is that people deny Marines have a design problem, yet they rail on the Colossus. Both units are incredibly similar in that Colossus and Marines can easily dominate the game, and require people to build their hard counters in order to handle them (Banelings, Infestors, Colossus and High Templars vs Marines and Corrupters, Vikings, Vipers and Tempests/Voidrays vs Colossus).
This kind of game design is just silly in both cases, but there is a big difference here. Colossus are a lot higher up the tech tree and require a lot of gas, which means you can't both tech to Colossus and build other gas intensive units early. But feel free to mix Marines with any type of tech (oh remembering the 1-1-2 and 1-1-1 in PvT makes me shudder) because they are low tech and only require minerals. Or just mass them. They are good without upgrades, and scale wonderfully with upgrades and have a very high micro potential compared to Colossus.
For those reasons, we see people switch out the Colossus once their opponent has the counters, yet people still mass Marines. Great you now have access to Tanks, you going to get some? Nah, just more Marines... hey you got the armory for Thors? Nah just for Marines upgrades, I'm gonna to build more Marines...
