It doesn't really matter if zerg can beat that comp or similar compositions, nobody wants to watch games that go like that, it's like infestor broodlord but worse. It's not fun to play either. The more exciting way we want to see zergs deal with that is constant counterattacks/drops/nydus. But right now everyone is so concerned with having the right stuff for defense that they don't even feel like they can spare the supply needed to do effective base raids, and such attempts are risky as well as overlords and nydus are slow/easy to deny. It'd be nice if zerg overlords could move a bit faster or something, or nydus got some kind of buff.

CatZ and Artosis are right, swarm host is necessary in that kind of scenario. I saw a couple of games on Mana's stream where he simply couldn't engage against SH-corruptors-vipers-mass spores without losing at least some units every locusts wave and he eventually ran out of gas. You just can't get high templars in front of your army to feedback vipers with swarm host there.

Not that it is fun to watch, but I blame the maps (like Daybreak) for that.

If not shown in GSL or Premier tournament with Code S koreans, the strat is unproven. simple as that.

A few Brood Lords was a nice idea, but Swarm Hosts work better in that situation.. Soon, the solution will be found.

not really, swarm hosts have higher "range", enough to not get slaughtered by tempests. Making BLs was just a terrible idea.

I meant that he went for air brood lords.. if he had gone for ground brood lords it would be better.

Or maybe Daybreak is a terrible map in late game.

Man, I was so hyped up for tonight and am kinda feeling let down by the style of the games. Not to say these players played bad, but it just feels underwhelming.

One thing I'm thinking is that I wasn't around for the start of WoL, so didn't see these growing pains when competitive play started for that game. I'm sure in 6 months we'll look back on tonight and just laugh.

All that being said, there's probably a bunch of new viewers tonight, so I hope that Tasteless and Artosis sign off with something like: "For all our new viewers, trust us, shit will get epic in a few weeks so just stick around if you found this boring in any way tonight". Unlikely they'll say that though, but I hope this didn't turn off any new viewers.
