But the problem is that this tournament is in the middle of of a bloody technology fair. :D Well this part isn't technology related. This is like in E3 in the middle of the sony conference microsoft comes promoting the kinect. I am interested in new technology and cannot wait for the occolus rift but when i watch a tournament i don't need technology promotion in the middle of it.
It's money going to esports. And, as a community, we need it if we want to have nice tournaments. Everyone watching a SC2 tournament is pretty nerdy to begin with : so we are a good niche for companies. If it makes IEM possible, I am all for it.

Funny, Blizzard was banning players for using macro keys and mouse wheel to snipe with, but enlarging minimap to whole screen is legal with this gimmick?

Actually something was funny when everybody in LR was whining about broodlords infestors being boring, and saying that's why LoL was more attractive. Well, in a LoL game nothing happens, just 10 dudes last hitting creeps. And in the end you have impressive score like 12-6 in 30 minutes. This is the real boredom. I don't get it. LoL (beside skill ceiling)feel empty, long and there isn't real possibility of coming back. It's just pale near Dota 2 or Sc2. And I don't even want to compare it to BW or Quake. Basically agreed with what you said. But comebacks are more likely to happen in LOL. Comebacks being more likely to happen isn't exactly a good thing. Them being rare is what makes them special.
Very true.

'You cannot win by yourself' very appropriate ad for the SC2 stream.

Team Games... Almost anything becomes fun when played with friends. The serious business atmosphere around sc2 doesn't help either. Also, f2p.
SC2 have the Arcade. So with proper work and some good flags (Starcraft Unverse MMORPG is fucking awesome) we can cater to the same public. The paywall is sad, but it has its advantages. And the content is much better.

I think it really depends. Just look at Dota games for example, if one team are getting denied in early farm for too long, the game is basically a slow and painful death. And the game might just be really one sided all the way till finish (and the game usually lasts like 40 mins+) Having a BIGGER chance to come back means that we can always expect the game to change and we all waiting for that moment and see how it all reveals

But simply the graphics is what I don't understand. The animations look so weird, to me it's like everyone is slowly wobbling over the screen in LoL. I think anyone can watch 'the play'' bij Navi from Dota2 and even though they don't have a clue what is going on, it will still look impressive. But with LoL highlights I don't get that vibe at all.

I like the EyeTracker, would be interesting to have eye control groups you could a-move over the minimap if properly implemented. But you would have to master hand coordination without being reliant on eyes.

I was curious about the lol discussion because competitive lol felt boring to me too. so i googled it and one point why lol is so popular was that its so similar to wow: "A lot of champions are shamelessly copied from certain WoW specs/classes (nothing wrong about that WoW is taking everything good from other games as well), and the masteries and runes seems strangely similar to gems/talents, so any WoW player who is starting to play LoL will quickly find a lot of familiarities he or she can relate to."
so i never played wow but a lot of people play wow so it might transfer over

Really? Many complain the exact opposite - DotA2 graphics are so much harder to understand/distinguish features unless you already had prior DotA experience.

With Sting gone, Dream is now the people's champion. He MUST win, or it's all been for nothing.
