Thor + widow mine are pretty bad to clear up a bunch of overlords (as opposed to bio) so you can launch all the widow mines and you have a 40 second timing window to crush the army But still, the meatshield that hellbats are make it very very hard to win... I'm hardly the best player ever, but I've had a lot of success beating mech with swarm hosts. I don't know if Slivko would have been able to do this here, but you can basically kite mech if you have too many locusts for the terran to deal with quickly. | ||

I liked to go roach hydra viper, but haven't played a lot of Heart of the swarm, and yeah I agree i often use overlord speed to tank some damage of widow mine. | ||

Swarmhosts are good vs mech if the zerg uses them properly. I rarely lost to mech if I got that roach/hydra/swarmhost then once hive hit swarmhost/hydra/ultra/viper. It's such a strong composition vs mech it's awesome ^_^. | ||
