It's so sad to see another really lackluster IEM tournament. They've got potential with the big intel sponsorship and Carmac, who is a decent guy, but i'm so terribly bored by their production, downtime, lack of progression, same sounds and visuals over and over again. It's sad to see IPL gone, who we're giving E-Sports so much more in terms of publicity, willingness to improve and so forth.
The viewing numbers are nowhere near where they should be, considering there's literally nothing else going on at that time, it's the big finals of their season and most of all it's the first big HOTS offline event. Just such a disappointing thing to watch the best e-sports title falling so far behind because of man made mistakes from event organizers and Blizzard.
Maybe they'll understand what they're supposed to do to get Starcraft big with Legacy of the Void.

Yes, because Kas and Lucifron totally dominated their groups, right? Player levels are all over the place right now due to different time spent on HoTS (Kas and Lucifron switched late as well as some protoss and zerg players). I am not sure it is the best time to cry about balance yet.

We had 1 terran, 3 protoss, 2 zergs advancing out of a pool of 3 terran, 5 protoss and 4 zergs. Seems ok so far. Again, I am not saying the game IS balance. But we can't tell at this point yet.

Agree. It's also important to understand in the metagame, Zerg will usually be reactive. This means they are going to get stomped no matter what balance is for a few months while they figure timings and strategies out

It was also at a terrible time for all of the Americas, which takes away a lot from the viewer count. I was able to catch the last couple hours or so.

In all seriousness though, despite the constant whining from most players... having casted TONS of games of HotS, Super lategame PvZ seems a tad strong for P with the air army, but otherwise I don't think there are glaring balance issues that make the game impossible for one side.

I think this is fairly well represented by the fact that no one race has completely dominated so far, and why we'll likely see the players who are more experienced with the game continue to win the most :D
