He stayed because he expected Nerchio to play correctly, not do a random all in. If Nerchio had played correctly, Yoda would have out macro'd him easily with like 6 drops at the same time and a push at the 4th

What do you mean "play correctly". Nerchio defended the 11/11, saw an opportunity and killed YoDa. Sound correct for me.

According to Idra, who is a top 3 foreigner along with Scarlett and Stephano, playing correctly is not doing things like roach bane all ins. If he truly played correctly he would have out macro'd Yoda (which will never happen unless both of yoda's hands break). Terran NEEDS to do early economic damage to Zerg in order to survive the late game. Yoda was playing standard. Yes he mismicro'd because he was jet lagged but Nerchio should not have all ined like that. He should have macro'd it out. I don't know if you remember this game but back in like March of 2011, Idra was playing an MLG (or some foreign tourney) and he 10 pooled against a hatch first on lost temple. He won and typed out "so this is what it's like to play bad."

In order to play correctly, you need to play a macro game. According to Idra, who is pretty much correct at everything, that is how you should play the game, and I agree with him

That amused me immensely. Well played, Sir :3

Yes, thank you for agreeing with me. And yes, it is obvious that I am correct at everything else and idra is a top 1 foreigner. Best foreign mechanics and Ro8 GSL. No other foreign Zerg can match that.

How exactly is it a bad system if the one with the most map wins moves on? You make it sound like it is all unusual, but infact it is usually the way same in football (map wins=goals in this case).

In football it makes sense, because you stimulate the teams to play offensive because you reward more total goals.
This doesnt apply to map wins, so it doesnt make sense there.

Why, I am asking why you don't stimulate the players to take one game off an opponent even when you're losing a series?

No. Thats already stimulated, because players would have a worse map difference if they wouldnt take that game.
Counting total map wins changes nothing there.

Winning in close series is better than losing in close series. Losing in close series is better than being owned. What doesn't make sence here to you?

It is already better because you get a better map difference.
(you are arguing to count total map wins which changes nothing in that regard)

Sorry? Grubby had 7 wins and Moonglade 6, isn't it based on total map wins and you're arguing it should be based on ratio instead?

Yes.
Maybe you think carefully through what I explained. Don't know if I can say it better.

I agree what you said about ratio and that it also encourages to win more games _but_ I think that if we go from here: how to encourage players to win as many games as possible? It's not winratio but most wins that comes as a natural answer. That's my opinion.

How does most total wins encourage you to get more wins than win ratio? Please explain your logic. Opinion isn't really relevant here we can talk about it completely objectively.

They are not playing fixed number of games. If they were then ratio would naturally make sence. In case of set of bo3s, having less wins means you didn't fought good enough in every single game.

Yes, it's not ideal since wins aren't weighted. A typical round robin tournament (with fixed number of games) would have Sonnenborg-Berger but it's not valid (at least not in standard form) for bo3's (non fixed number of games).

You can't encourage it more than that.

Map difference isn't same as map ratio to me, but whatever, maybe I just don't get it.
Please be patient.
