Well he was there. But I kinda didn't see any news about his operation at all so that's why people confuse why they don't send Taeja out.

I think because in winner's league, you can only send out 4 players total, not like 6 players in regular format, so the race requirement will be too hard to follow with only 4 players to play. So, they probably dropped that race requirement for winner's league.

but not as the ace. he always crashes in burns when he's the ace. It's nice to send those kind of players out as the second or third. If you're going to use HerO you have to use him earlier imo. same for Marineking for Prime in GSTL

i wouldn't even say JYP bombed his game. Though I would agree that initial cannon may have been a little slow, he put up a pretty damn good defense for the next 10+ minutes to vastly superior army composition and numbers, with a worse economy. I think he could easily have won if he had held that first push, even just a little better.

So the rocks were about little more halfway dead when JYP threw down that cannon right? Cannon build time is 40 seconds and 6-8 lings destroyed the rocks with like about 5 seconds left for the cannon to finish... That seems ridiculous that starting lings can do that much damage... Not sure to conclude whether the map is imbalanced because rocks have no armor, or JYP was unprepared. Watching that game was just plain stupid.

Another heartbreaking loss for EG-TL. I think it's time to try something new for the Ace Match, because JYP's PvZ doesn't seem to be strong enough right now to get them over that final hurdle when called upon. Maybe they need to rest their hopes on Jaedong's shoulders and hope that the legend of JvZ has transferred over to SC2. Or perhaps now that Stephano is here, he can throw his weight around like the ace he is, provided he doesn't get disqualified first.

So...Puma? Vs a zerg there is no reason to not send hero. If you don't use him vs t or z why even have this amazing protoss in your team? There is a reason you dont send out Hero in a PvZ because you have JYP to send out in PvZ. Its such a coin flip between those 2 so I don't understand all the salt in this thread
Because HerO has beaten amazing zergs in the last several months in championship situations, while JYP has not. I don't get why the "conventional wisdom" is that JYP's PvZ is so amazing.

Taeja couldnt be used. Hero is looking super shaky right now. JD not there (and jetlaged anyways).
So what, send out zenio? He hasnt done anything in ages. Thorzain? Puma?
Anyways that map really is awful. Great idea giving zerg a thousand points of attack to your natural with fast dying rocks.

Yeah, you can't have that rule for Winner's League because then if you all-kill you only sent out one race.

Sending JYP on that map was suicidal. JYP¨did actually great given the postiion he was in. Can't blame JYP, just the decision to send him on this map vs zerg. EG-TL coach has a lot to learn

Other than the botched 10 pool defense, JYP played really well. Hopefully he isn't to shaken up by the loss.

That would only be true if players had broodwaresquely extensive records. (Sea for example being a proleague hero)
But given that this is basically 1st proper SC2 Spl season the only information you can rely on are games outside of proleague.
