The map pool really doesn't help with the current balance imo. Needs more arkanoid right? =3 But seriously, I wish more could be done with maps. A little more divergence would be great Anything really, Belshir/Abyssal seem to play out pretty similar (hard to take thirds vs zerg) and Daybreak/Entombed/Antigia are so old now. Hopefully we see a full new set of maps next year to try some things out before HOTS (unlikely tho)
I am not sure having an all new pool of maps is a good idea. Players just don't have enough time to practice. Maybe take out 2 of the most imbalance ones and introduce 2 new ones (anti zerg ones).

You know the issue is that map makers have been forced into the "balanced" cookie cutter layout.
I wish tournaments had room for like a map that is terrible for zerg, but amazing for Terran and Protoss. Terrible idea for a team league game, but awesome for solo competitions.
Also I think tournaments need to rotate maps more or always introduce something fresh into the season.
I doubt they'll look into it before HotS. Map makers should hopefully be again trying a lot of new things when HotS comes out thanks to changes with unit dynamics.

People are praising KeSPA for just throwing in 4 completely new maps that may or may not be balanced, and they cause the games to be far more interesting.
And players don't have enough time to practice? I think that tournaments should have their own map pool, so that if someone goes to another tournament, they would have to know the maps, and someone who practices those maps might win just because of it.
Watching Daybreak reversed, upside down, sideways, is not a new map, its just a slightly different daybreak.
Maps like Antiga are good, they force other playstyles, however the main problem with maps is Protoss, because of how forcefields and their slow army (in comparison to zerg) need to affect the maps.

Team leagues are the best for imbalanced maps, especially on the All-kill format.
Hell, even just reskin maps, I'm tired of the look of Daybreak, make it something else, a volcanic map, a jungle, a city/jungle, a desert, that way they don't become too stale to look at.

They are praising it because it is PL format which makes imbalances not as bad.

It's a combination of forcefields and ZvP as a whole. There are certain necessary elements to a map to make ZvP balance that fuck over the other match ups as a result. Every map has to have super close 3rds with chokes or else it's unplayable for protoss. Every map without it is just 2 base all-in all day.

if there is a problem then yes. but you cant randomly pause. its like playing football and you just randomly tell the other team to stop playing But there is no button that you can press accidentally that suddenly makes the game pause in football...

People would find ways to abuse it. Either pause before a battle to think how to engage or just to throw of your opponent mentally. This is why it must be a warning at least once before DQ. The kespa auto DQ on one pause is absurd imo.

Parting Vs. Z, can he fight of the imbalance and crown himself the offical world champion? He's currently the unoffical one.

Violet's play is, apparently, no joke. I wish him further success in GSL if that's what he chooses. It's weird how abysmal his overall record is, and yet how he is occasionally quite capable.

Wow my Protoss x.x This hurts.

Destroy them filthy Zerg Parting!!!!

Zergs still staying strong! It is the Blizzard Cup, though, so I didn't expect less. Good games by Rain and Seed, I hope.
