There is a reason that this style is so very strong on Metropolis, and that Goody can defeat Stephano on it. Mvp even did it against a protoss, and would've won if he had scouted the mothership and not had his BC's clumped up. Also nice analogy ![]() Agreed. Metropolis is tailor made for this kind of play. But if you look at the game on Ohana. It might LOOK like the game was close and Goody was winning engagements. But in reality, at no point in the game did it look possible for him to win. Even with better macro, he would have got crushed if he tried to move on creep.

Because his 'style' is all based on defense so macro doesn't matter as much as long as you get max. Eventhough it makes the game 'look' close, it really isn't. Remember, Goody never had to move his army and go on creep. If the fights are on creep and you need to control moving the entire army, it looks totally different. It is like a soccer team playing all 10 man as defenders, they might only lose 2-0 to a superior team. But they will always lose. You can't really say "Well, if they learned to score a couple goals, they can win". But remember to get the goals, they would have to commit players going forward, thus weakening their defense and they can lose 4-0, 5-0/ absolutely right! Goody's style was allways about race and !!!mapabuse!!!. Modern maps are way less abusive than the old ones, so he can't make that happen anymore. So he does the only thing he is able to without losing the game in the first minutes and this is turtle and slowly grabbing expansions. This works against players who don't know what to do and this may work on maps, where you can easily secure 5bases like metropolis. But this style is easy to beat as stephano showed. It's not that the last games were extremely difficult to play for stephano. Instead he could afford to waste units here and there and was still totally fine with everything. It's just tiring and boring to play against, because you have to wait for the right time to attack, attacking at the wrong moment is the only thing, that can lose you the game there. If Goody sticks to this in the future, there is no room for improvement for him. He might be successful in the beginning of HotS with his abusive play but his time will not last as long as it did in WoL.

Oh good stuff! Hadn't realized that, that's awesome. Have all HSC's had that? I could've sworn they were round robin before. This is better though, I hate the ol map score, head to head, internal map score BS

Your chances in this format depends a lot on who you're drawn to play against first.

I think because the tiebreaks got too confusing and in this case, every series matters for every player.
