DRG's mistakes aside, Noblesse just played a great game.

I like the "make 20 mutas" make mass ling/bling and take 20 bases style on WW for Zerg. Don't worry about trading too cost effectively just be ready to wipe out their bases quickly if they move out. Snipe stuff with Mutas, etc. I'm bad compared to pros though so what do I know. I would not want to use Infestor/Blord though here.

WW is good if the terran can get to late game in a good position, its just the mid game that can be a bit dicey because it is harder to punish early greed from zerg due to map size.

I still give the edge to Scarlett for best overall creep spread mechanics (if you have not watched her stream it's truly insane)... but that is pretty wild for a game on WW. 12:00 mark and he was pushing the halfway mark and not the "single line of creep" style it was the full map covered.

Why is it that some games DRG's mechanics (mainly creep) are 2x better than others? It seems random.

Creep vs. bads on ladder is easy. In a GSL booth it's really different. The whole point of creep pushing is that it's down to multi-tasking - if you're not having to multi-task much because your opponent isn't forcing you to do anything you can fill the whole map.

A Zerg's success with creep is hugely down to how much they devote to it and to what extent your opponent is devoting against it. How useful it is depends on map and opponent, so that's the real determinant.

Her creep spread is extremely good in tournaments as well.

Foreign Terrans =/= Korean Terrans.

And like I said, it depends how much you want to devote to creep spread. If DRG wanted to he could have the entire map covered every time but the rest of his game would suffer for it.

I guess she's never played a Korean terran before.

Not at all what I said.

I said that her creep spread is good in tournaments as well, then you said "Foreign Terrans =/= Korean Terrans." Either you're saying that she's not playing Korean terrans in tournaments, or you're just randomly deciding to inform me that foreign terrans and Korean terrans are not the same.

Let's not derail the thread with an argument about whose creep spread is the best. I would say Scarlett's creep spread is the best, but it doesn't really relate to this thread. More on point, no clue how Noblesse won that game. Then again I'm watching the free stream and with the quality it is a bit hard to tell what's happening.

That was absolutely sick play from Noblesse. Unless you have played late game TvZ yourself it's hard to understand how insanely hard it is to win on big maps like Zergwind.

Well played Noblesse. Really good decision making, just sitting tight and expanding on Whirlwind, until Tank/bio beats ultras.

The problem: DRG thought he had it when he remaxed with lings.

He should have remade his drones and built another T3 army.

Yeah I saw that too. A stream of lings ran across the map, and then less than a minute later commentators noted a huge gas bank and almost no minerals.

EDIT: and there was this odd bit where I think one of his bases was not mining minerals at all. But then it might have been a quick shot whilst his drones were still in long distance mine mode just after a new expand perhaps

WW is actually better for Terrans super late wtf :O???

WW has always been better for terrans super late. Because BLs aren't good here due to map size so Terrans know it will likely be Ultras and have enough marauders out. That is why you see players like HyuN do 2-2 bane ling muta busts.

I think you cant really say that. Not after this game anyways. The dead weight in muta's is what made Drg loose.

nah it wasnt the mutas at all. 20supply in mutas meant nothing. WW is a better lategame terran map if the terran knows what to do

what killed DRG was that whirlwind is so huge and the terran had a ton of orbitals, a orbital flys to a far away base and in 30 seconds generates thousands of minerals for the terran (enough for almost a full army)

while DRG's bases are far and spread out and he needs a ring of 15spines around a base to defend against a small bio drop otherwise the bio just goes to the 1 location spines arent and snipes stuff
