I feel like bio has such a huge advantage over mech on this map. Maybe Classic wants to go viking-oriented to shut down drop play?

What? It doesn't matter the distance between main and 3rd. He gets force field out. I think people are getting confused due to having the natural behind the main. Maybe easier to imagine if the main was at the natural location instead. The issue is NOT the main being able to be FF by one FF. It is because the main AND and natural can be cut off by one FF. Where should you position you army? If you have it in the main, you lose your third. If you have it between main and third, you get FF out.


It is basically a map where you have a one FF ramp from you natural. Which other map has that?

also there's a pathway along the side of the map where you can get your units out.


And the distance from that ramp to the third compare to this map? Are you kidding now? You want to run you army using that pathway?

I like this map, I think it tests strategic approaches, and creates new builds that aren't viable on other maps. That's the whole point of SC2.

except on a map where warp prisms have to cross the 3rd to get to the ramp, zergs often DONT deflect these kinds of attacks. If the zerg doesnt' respond IMMEDIATELY, then once forcefield goes down and the zerg main is dead, asssuming the toss doesnt' make a major screw up

Im actually super exited about this. I would love to see weird maps that create completly different metas. maybe getting back some mineral only bases, 1gas bases, 3gas bases, islands etc. Im not saying it will work right away and might very well be imbalanced in some way but I love the attempt!
