That's good and bad. I mean a game with inferior UI and controls specifically for the sake of making it more difficult to play is not going to go over well with 90% of players in this day and age. And on the other hand, it would make players more consistent to some extent.
I honestly think a lot of the issue too is that even the tip top players bunch their armies when they should not. They have the ability to 1a, but if they didn't, I actually think they'd perform better in a lot of situations. Am I the only one who doesn't buy this argument? I really think it's more about the game being 2 years old and not close to figured out yet. BW is easier to play than starcraft 64, but it still produced dominating figures (not after 2 years though), so why can't this happen for a game that's "easier" than bw? And we already had MVP dominate 2011 like nobody's business before his wrists went to shit completely

Basically, the top tier in SC2, and the top tier in BW have relatively similar winrates, relative to the rest of each respective scene. The difference between the games is more that we don't have Bonjwas in SC2, but we do have a clear top tier. The major tournaments are much closer together in sc2, so that's a huge factor as well. To consistently perform often is alot harder than when you have plenty of time. Yeah, even if you combine OSL and MSL, it is absolutely nothing compared to MLG + Dreamhack + ASUS ROG + IEM + BWSC + WCS + IPL + NASL, etc.
