It's not like StarTale had to play PvZ on Abyssal City. It's obviously bad in individual league where the map MUST be played for a particular match up, but it is Startale's mistake to leave Abyssal City for PvZ in this team league if anything, knowing Leenock would be the ace from FXO anyways. They should have "consumed" Abyssal with, say, ZvZ or something.

Yeah, Leenock clearly isn't skilled at all and just effortlessly a-moved around the map. Oh wait, that's totally not true. My bad.

Actually, that's pretty much what he did. Granted, adding overlord drop and 3 hotkey groups makes the job harder, but that was nothing compared to the vigilance Squirtle needed to have just the right blinks, guardian shields, and FFs at the right place and the right time.

mmkay.

methinks you may have a slight amount of race bias here.

That's why we see this style every ZvP? Right? Because it's a free win and so easy to execute?

There is a reason it's a rarely played style..

Actually yes Every ZvP I've seen on that map is the same build order into win by zerg lol

As much as I'm biased towards Startale, you have to admit Leenock played well. He seems to be one of the few Zergs that can consistently produce entertaining games.

It's definitely a bad map, Startale leaving it in the pool when their ace was P and FXO's was Z was a poor call.

I play both Z and P, so...no. Honestly, the whole race bias thing is such a BS argument. At our levels of play, whatever they may be, balance isn't even an issue.

Well if you say so, it must be true.

Good counterargument. Can I get lessons from your school of rhetoric, o wise one? -_-

What the hell is there even to argue about that incredible biased view?

"A Zerg attack like that is super easy, and the defense by the Protoss super hard. Period."

No shit I'm not gonna write an actual argument in response, because all hope is clearly lost.

Squirtle lost that game when he decided not to do the wonwonwon and take a third base.

The reason is because on any other map blink defense is far too strong against drop play. Abyssal City is known for not only the open 3rd but the sheer distance from the main to the 3rd.

Nobody said Zerg is imba. The point is that Abyssal City is imba.

My key problem here is this: why does every single zerg-favored map have to be so obviously insanely advantageous for zerg (whirlwind, abyssal, taldarim in the past) while a "terran/protoss-favored" map will still show good winrates and balanced games?

And no, I am not doubting Leenock's ability. It was marvelous. Just impossible to hold on such a map.

This should also dispel those zerg arguments of "if infestors are taken out something else has to be put in or zerg will suck Q.Q" because clearly, they don't. You saw how your hero Leenock used mutalisks to bounce between bases and back them up with lings/roaches. The only reason anyone else claims the rest of the zerg army sucks is because infestor-bl gives such easy wins, anything else seems like a titanic effort in comparison.
