So ret can go through even after losing to the two players he's tied with. Wow...

Time to consider whether Stephano is still the best foreigner.

For the moment, he isn't. Based on recent results, Sen is the best foreigner, but Thorzain, Naniwa, Scarlett, Suppy, Nerchio, etc. are all candidates for the same position.

Lol wat? Because of one tournament? Saying Sen is top 5 is even debatable.

Two tournaments now. He didn't get out of the group stage in two separate tournaments.

Wtf, I was talking about Sen.
People are so Stephano obsessed, its not even funny.

Slim pickings. Not a lot of players outside of Korea are doing well in tournaments with top Koreans these days. Stephano held the position by winning LCS 2, but WCS is a far better tournament in terms of skill.

Sen beat Grubby, killer, curious and Hero in WCS
Stephano beat Axslav, BK, Crank, Ganzi and Bomber in LSC

How does that make Sen a better foreigner than Stephano...

Stephano is still the best, but just as every other player who has been traveling like crazy (Stephano went from Korea, to Paris to Texas to China to Sweden in 1 month ...) he can't really practice and gets beaten by people who do.
Rain got rolled in code A, Life lost in his group, Creator lost, Leenock lost...

Stephano failed to make it out of the group stages of the last two tournaments he attended. Sen has made it out of every group stage in the last three tournaments he's attended. Both face players of the same caliber. Stephano is in an obvious slump the way he's playing. There's no way to call him the best foreigner while he plays this way; that just embarrasses the scene.

When Stephano gets over his slump, and is back to playing the way he used to play, then I reckon overtaking Sen and the other candidates won't be an issue.

You know, that there is a difference between "most successful" and "best" foreigner?
If you are lucky with the seedings you can still reach a high tournament rank with less skill. Losing a few games doesn't magically turn you into a bronze player. Stephano was playing pretty good lately, even if he didn't make it that far.

The best way to do it, IMO. Your advancement shouldn't depend on who you just happen to end up tied with.

If Snute wins 1 more map he's through yeah, because with that he'll have equal mapscore with thestc, whom he beat earlier.

Yes, there's a difference.

Stephano is the most successful foreigner and that won't change in the foreseeable future.

Best foreigner, however, says that he's the best we've got at the moment when it comes to skill, and with the way he's playing, he's just not.

It makes perfect sense. Map score should always come first, as you won a higher percentage of games than your opponent.

That was depressing.

Both Ret and Nightend needs a 2-0 win so hopefully it'll be a 2-1 game.

IMO, it should.

What it shouldn't happen is that you end up not advancing because you didn't 2-0 instead of 2-1 the weakest player in the group.
