What are you supposed to build there to win? I feel more zealots and less archons would have been more effective. Also don't get all your HT EMPed. That would be good.

But not sure. I can't believe other terrans aren't building as many ghosts though because that's the counter to the entire protoss race.

Instead he should have focussed much more heavily on Ht's. Spreading them out. Just killing 50-70% of the army is fine and you will if you can split up HT. Then you rebuild (at one of your expos). Maxes out and owns thorzain in the next battle.

What are you supposed to build there to win? This is true. His bank was so heavily balanced towards gas it wasn't even funny. I do think, though, that once you reach this late late game vs mass ghost, you've got to switch to something along the lines of stalker/colossus, forgoing a bit of archons and zealots and using his stalkers to keep the colossus alive.

Naniwa still had an insane gas bank and two mineral mining bases. He could have warped in a ton of Archons and still won, Thorzain's last army was weakened, small, and had no follow up. Thrown game. But I do have to say Naniwa played that game correctly. What was he supposed to build? Immortals and Archons weren't bad choices. There's just nothing else you can build. Possibly a late game tech switch back to heavy Blink Stalker/Colossus could have done a better job, but it was very difficult with Thorzain maintaining that Viking count for so long. His only choice for a lot of that game was Archon/Immortal/Chargelot.

It is tricky but some kind of colossus play with several observers together with a well spread out HT mix I think is what is necessary. Colossus can to some extent defend the HT from getting EMP:ed and the HT can to some extent defend the colossus from vikings with storm. Maybe add in some blink stalker for extra defense and then of course charge zealots. Although vikings have longer range then storm cast radius I believe so in reality it is tricky, you need to have perfect army controll over a long period of time. You clump your HT`s a bit and 2-3 EMPs hits and it is all over.

Zealots are extremely bad vs MMM & ghosts late-game. You really need storms. I think he should have tried to get some storms in even though there were a lot of ghosts.

Just build HT's, not archons lol.

Stalkers aren't goin to do dps with medivacs that base heal faster than stalkers do damage. Collosi are in oneshot range because of vikings. This was a win condition for terran. Maybe a prism drop pulls that army apart. Maybe. Well done by mr Spoon. edit; Think the genius way of putting up 5-6 cannons in the middle of the map is pretty smart. No obs isgoing to survive

2. Naniwa was never able to get good positional advantage on the map because Thorzain was waiting for him patiently 3. Naniwa had 40-50 supply smaller army than Thorzain. Combine that with #1 and #2 and you have a reason why he lost
