if I had to overanalyze the matches so far:
Rain was getting decent mileage out of oracles because he just slotted them in the place of phoenix/voidray in his standard play, and then just threw in a couple of tempests from his starports. Tho he did start using mothership core pretty effectively asap.
Widow mines are super similar to spider mines in BW, so everyone has a decent idea of how to use them, as well as hellion-firebats.
Neither JD nor Nestea really seemed to grasp how to use a swarm host effectively, and thus were crippled compared to just going for infestors.

Well it's still beta remember so if that's the case they will make more adjustments. The thing is right now they are pretty powerful against protoss in some situations but not as much against terran, so they need a way to buff against one and not the other.

As protoss storm is going to be a great counter to them. Storm can almost 1 shot them unless I am mistaken so I imagine that'll be a better counter then going colossi.
But even then once toss gets 4+ colossi with a good stalker/sentry support they can negate swarmhosts with good FF usage and then kill them with the colossi and detectors (they now have multiple ways to detect unless again I am mistaken). With proper support as toss stalker/sentry/colossi with a couple observers is a great counter ^^.

You need at least 5 to be useful. Its one of those things where we will learn numbers and how many are good vs bad.
For example you dont need more than 3 collossus if you want to do a HT transition, we know this now. 2 isn't quite safe enough and 4 is too much gas spent.
Tempests are good as 4 or 8. 4 will 2 shot every unit in the game, 8 will one shot. This is all without overkill on super high HP units. 6 tempests will shoot twice and waste 4 tempest projectiles on other units.
Just an example

The problem is when they show up and you have 0 or 1 colossus and range isn't done or something. But that could jsut be because I'm bad I guess.

You buff the host so its good vs terran, and give protoss a decent way of dealing with them until you get a good amount of AoE out.
Currently, time warp is pretty darn good at making the swarm host's locusts less effective. Perhaps all it needs from protoss side is a small tiny buff to stalkers to be able to kill the locusts just a bit quicker.

Well the way I saw tosses defend was use FF to prevent locusts from really doing anything while getting colossi out + range. Since they got like 8+ sentries they could FF forever to prevent building damage.
Although this was with the old beta maps, no idea how this works on daybreak or anything.

It was big yesterday too. Most of them aren't there just for this, it's a big tech convention or something.
