Correct, the MvP matches will begin tonight after the NA qualifier.
Like Mrwl said on the first few comments on this topic, I too think Jaedong got to a tiebreak match or something. I really hope he does win the tiebreak if there is one! :D

The live production is amazing, game quality has been awesome! My only two real complaints are the vod page/access is kind of atrocious and players forfeiting have been a problem. Still 100% worth the money though.

That was a very entertaining TvP. Lost of back and forth battles. Classic was always ahead but it was still entertaining. More and more TvP is becoming my absolute favourite match up to watch!

You just got that feeling of each player grappling for ANY kind of advantage. Very exciting!
(yes... TvP with an especially talented Terran is always awesome)
This is a cool night of MvP, fun set of games. No cross-server lag, plus we haven't seen much KeSPA vs. KeSPA action since the hybrid proleague ended, aside from a handful of games in Code A.

If this was a Proleague match, would he be disqualified for that? Do you have to gg under KeSPA rules, or is the rule just that you can't type anything other than 'gg'?

Mistyping gg only gets you a warning. Of course being disqualified from a game you were about to lose doesn't make sense anyways. Players are also allowed to type ppp for pause. They are not allowed to pause the games themselves. A player who mistypes ppp will be disqualified. Yes this has happened before, multiple times. I didn't watch any of the hybrid proleague so I may be out of date with the rules.

I thought after the first DQ incident for mistyping they changed the rule no? Changed it to something like as long it's close to ppp or something? I could be wrong though I never really paid close attention to Kespa's silly rules.

I was specifically asking what happens if you just leave without typing anything. Do you get a warning for that? All the examples I know of are of players getting warned for typing something that wasn't 'gg'.

Actually yes you're right. After Leta was dq'd for typing 'pp' instead of 'ppp' they changed it so you can type p multiple times. I confused myself because I remembered the game Killer was dq'd in but in his case it was pausing the game on his own rather than typing 'pp.'

Dunno about that one. Never seen an actual pro game where a player just up and left without gg.

Serious that multi taskin was sick. Mutas attacking, marines defending, Drop in the main lings defending.. Both players attacking and defending their mains at the same time. Then Hyvaa went beast mode with that runby at the third! awesome to watch!

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm watching in 1080p on a big screen TV, and it's still so hard to figure out what's going on in games like that. I know some people hated the stronger team colors mod, but it made it a lot easier to understand what was happening in a battle.
EDIT: Also, yeah Hyvaa! I didn't think of him as one of the stronger SC2 players on Soul, but he's looking very impressive.

Bogus straight up no-gg ragequit from a Proleague game during the last full BW season. I think STX got a warning for it, with the harsher penalities being saved for if they ended up accumulating more penalities.

this, those infested terran eggs need to have the player's color...it's pretty much impossible to see who has more stuff in these big fights
In the HotS beta, they changed the model for the Infested Terran eggs so that it is an actual infested Terran with a slight bit of team color rather than a big, green beach ball.
Axeltoss's observer micro getting tested by all this action.
Last is playing on a barcode account, Soo on some account with a Korean ID. They don't seem to be enforcing the same rules for these tiebreakers that they did for the regular season. (According to http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/competitions/52#event_128_rules, they were supposed to play all their games on accounts provided by MLG.)
I guess that game was sort of over before that last big engagement, but it was still sort of cool the way Last kept repairing his thors and staying alive against the giant broodlord/infestor army. I feel like normally in that situation I would just see the zerg player roll in --> instant gg.
1. Ty 2. Rain 3. Soulkey 4. Flash 5. Effort 6. Jaedong 7. Hyvaa 8. Soo
Assuming the players will be seeded into the playoffs according to their standings we've got some very interesting matchups. Rain vs Hyvaa seems like it will be a romp but all the other matchups could go any way.
It's working for me again, just showing the EU/KR leaderboard though.
EDIT: nvm, back at 14 minutes.
And that was quick, gg. Jaehoon finishing at the bottom of the KeSPA ranks. I hope he doesn't retire, I want him to continue being a comical fail player like he was in Brood War.
I was thinking with all the SC2 is dying talk lately, it would've been nice if this tournament was free. With all the big names and Kespa players playing... it would've attracted a lot of people.
This tournament could have been a real hit if it was free. By that, i mean like perhaps over 20 pages of lr per day as compared to the dismal amount of viewers now.
I understand monetisation, but why can't they monetise premium services and build a larger fan base on regular streams like this?
Considering this is MLG vs Proleague, when you can only broadcast 2 playoff matches a night, why aren't you broadcasting one MLG playoff match and one Proleague playoff match. That way the people only interested in watching Proleague players will be tuned in, and those only interested in watching MLG players will be tuned in.
Surely this is common sense? Or am I just missing something? As according to TL Tournament schedule tonight will only broadcast MLG player matches

I really reall really want to dislike Naniwa, can't do it anymore...the guy is a beast. Over .500 record against players who at worst are .500 in the tournament. I haven't caught that many of his games in the MvP, but thos numbers alone are extremely impressive!

Kespas pro league will revive it. Although, you won't be seeing any foreigners or ESF players in it.

PL is struggling for teams as well. Will be interesting to see how they plan the schedule with 7 teams.
Did anything end up going right with this tournament? Tons of walkovers, low viewer count (assuming from the LR threads), terrible format, very biased towards Kespa, etc, etc.

Were there any positives?
People who actually paid (speaking as one myself) should be generally satisfied with the value especially compared with the past MLG arenas this year. Casting was good, game play by Kespa players was high, lots of games (albeit meaningless). Now the action really starts. I didn't even think they'd have fpvods of all these games despite it being a mess. So all in all, I don't mind paying for it (should be cheaper however and then there'd be lots more viewers). If they do this again, they definitely need to rework the format.

For the amount of vods there are for the event $10 is far more then worth it.

Yeah compare it to OSL and their $12 or $13. And Moletrap is still screaming (still bitter he made me mute GSL code A season 1 this year)
What I really like are the VODs with no casting. It's so nice to be able to watch these guys' FPPoV, since you can't find their replays. It gives you a really good idea of where they are in SC2.
