The casters for Iron Squid
Setting the crowd on fire is not a simple task. Both great games and inspired casters are required. In France, Pomf & Thud are known for their energy and the way they live the games with their audience. For their English counterparts, the tournament needed a great duo, sharp and funny, able to extract the best out of the fabulous coming games.
Two duos will be the main casters for this Iron Squid II. The first duo is none other than Sean “Day9” Plott and James “Kaelaris” Carrol. Their alchemy was obvious during IEM Cologne and we are looking forward to having them casting the Iron Squid. No introduction is needed for those two big figures of the StarCraft II scene, as they are both well known from the whole community. The second duo is also very famous, Wolf "Wolf" Schröder and Thomas "Khaldor" Killian have been casting GSL, GSTL and a lot of foreign tournaments. Viewers can expect their cast to be entertaining and insightful from the group stage up until the grand final where they will cast from Paris.
As you know the qualifiers will be on the next two week-ends and will be casted by different duos including the help of Yoan "ToD" Merlo.
The Qualifiers
Korean Qualifier, 13th October casted by Wolf and Khaldor
European Qualifier, 14th October casted by Kaelaris and ToD
American Qualifier, 20th October casted by Kaelaris and ToD
Open Qualifier, 21st October casted by Wolf and Khaldor
you can still REGISTER for the qualifiers
These casting teams will give their best to have you enjoy Iron Squid II

Will you work with In Uchronia again ? I hope oh so very much.
|
A bit sad that Apollo/TB do not cast, but sick casting line up anyway!
|
When I watch this: http://ironsquid.binarybeast.com/ I'm a little bit worried, it's possible we might not have many players for the Korean Qualifier.
Too bad Day[9] does not cast the qualifiers: it's a very important and interesting part of Iron Squid.

suiqsfhdjksfqhjklhqsdpfhhzer motherflippin' day9!!
wouldn't khaldor (or any german) casting in german would be a nice addition though?
|
Holy **** ! The casters crew is so amazing that it's really hard to choose if I will see the english cast or french cast or both.
GG Iron Squid.

haha igor looks so ronery. great tournament!

it's the first time ever that I'm not sure which language I'm going to choose, usually it's 100% english, but with moman, anoss and trunk the french cast could be very nice.
I love this kind of problems

Incredible caster line-up. This tourney deserves to be hyped so hard.
|
Love listening to Tod casting, just a shame him and Rotterdam aren't back together again from their Warcraft days

Polt, Life, Hyun, Byul, Oz, Shine, Sculp, Ryung, TheSTC, Keen, etc.
Looks good enough for me, much better than the lineup for the other qualifiers.
Hopefully fraer gets through from EU, that'd be nice. Since TitaN is not signed up, I assume he's among the last few invites.

That background color on Khaldor fooled me for a moment into thinking he's got a neck to rival the Hulk. Nice casting choices though!

Pomf and Thud are clearly one step ahead of all the other commentator duo. They have a unique energetic style coupled with a perfect chemistry (I assume being brothers might help them). Besides, what I like a lot about them is that they're not excessively nerdy or trying to pretend they are. No star wars or some obscure video games/movie references while they're casting, which are usually repulsive to newscomers.
In other words, I suggest all of you to tune up the French stream.

That's what the invites are for, I guess, you invite the good players who wouldn't play the qualifiers and hope that some other notable and good ones who participate more frequently in foreign tournaments to get in through the open part.

khaldor / wolf!!! Watching this 150% now.
|
French stream looks as awesome as the english one ... Well...
|
No Apollo/TB makes me a sad squid.
|
Poor Igor, he looks so lonely
|
Wow, just one guy doing the Russian cast. What a baller.

In other words, I suggest all of you to tune up the French stream. Except they are terrible at commentating. They are outstanding casters but they can't really compare to the strategical knowledge of Day9 or d.Apollo

Iron Squid is going full out on this one, having incredible casters just amplifies this.
|
I'm really looking forward to cast the event together with Wolf It was awesome to work with the IronSquid-Team in the past and I'm sure their 2nd tournament will be even better than the last one! Epic games incoming! :D
|
to bad its day9 , other casters good.
|
ToD is a caster? Anyone who whines about patch zergs probably shouldn't be casting prestigious tournaments.

don't worry, ToD will be casting not discussing the balance of the game. It is not his first casting experience

Too bad Apollo/TB aren't in it, but damn that is still a great caster list.
|
Yeah ! A lot of english good casters here, I'm glad for them but I will still watch the french stream as Pomf et Thud are incredibly charismatic.
|
Very nice caster list ! Maybe this time people will know about this awesome tournament!
