It's to be polite and courteous and everyone knows that, so if you don't gg everyone also knows you are deliberately being impolite. Its the equivalent of refusing to sbake handds Sort of like dancing after a win that you didn't need to work hard to achieve? Yeah.

We have to at least agree that good and constructive acts are favorable to neutral, bad and destructive acts. You suggest that it's for the purpose of entertainment. Everything is entertaining to someone and we all want standards of integrity and professionalism. The discussion is about where to set the bar. You've got to make an argument that a certain gain in entertainment value is worth a certain loss in professionalism. Merely suggesting that there is a gain in entertainment value isn't very moving. I don't expect us to be able to calculate what's best. It's a matter of opinion, a matter of what people prefer. I know of forms of entertainment that are much less professional and wholesome than progaming and if enough people in the community wanted to head in that direction then progaming would. I state my opinion to say I'd rather head in a direction of increased professionalism. If someone was in control of it all, I would appeal to them rather than publicly state my opinion. I am questioning why all things ought to be always constructive. Why must we not be allowed to show anything else other than the full and utmost professionalism of every moment of our "job".Especially when this job falls under the category of entertaining others, cause if you watch starcraft just for the quality of the game and want professionalism in every aspect of the game, then perhaps we should let bots play it. I do not like how everything must be judged and calculated when it comes to moves like this which do not affect gameplay in the slightest.

Isn't it naive to expect constructive messages in a sport or competitive environment? You are not your opponents team mate or coach, and you don't owe them anything, you just want to win and move on. As a professional gamer you are paid to complete a task (win games), and probably expected to promote your sponsors. Professionalism isn't defined by not angering your opponent. Your argument about where to set the bar seems a little fictional, imo professionalism doesn't really decrease until people stop following tournament rules.

Artosis was hyping up Bomber as this big bad scary Terran player who was ripping things up in Korea but was still to feature on GSL. Losira did a baneling bust and tore up his opponents mineral line. Bomber was on his knees and Losira stopped killing him to dance his lings! Of course Bomber managed to re-establish his wall, fend off the attack and stabilise. Bomber ended up coming back and winning that game. He danced his units just before applied the killing blow. I thought that was hilarious! > ![]() Here is the game I was referring to in the above post! Classic moments of SC2!
