Am i the only one that prefers visual clarity to "higher" graphical settings, post processing, depth of field etcetc in esports? Almost all pros put their graphic settings to low when they play. My question is, why dont tournaments? It seems to be quite widely agreed that low focus with maxed textures and effects gives the best clarity, performance, etc, and with everything maxed and health bars not permanantly on makes things very confusing and painful without those few high level observers Because it looks fucking terrible for observing. Simple as that really... I disagree. IMO, higher settings look worse. The added stuff makes it much more difficult to quickly analyse situations Casual viewers like shiny things Casual viewers are the majority 2 years after game launch? You're so in the minority right now. Casual viewers are what keeps a game like SCII growing.

He had no time to get storm and Archons do fuck all vs roaches though. Losing the third nexus was a huge deal, especially since he could have shut down vortix' main during the first attack with the DT.

A lot more people watch the game compared to how many play it at a reasonable level(or at all for that matter.)
Hm, well, i guess you have a point, but sometimes it feels like people who are trying to learn from the games get shafted in favor of those who are out at a barcraft or something looking to have a fun night who dont even play the game. I wish both could get what they wanted

That is a problem too but having graphics needlessly maxed aswell makes it much harder to follow
I just said it doesn't make it harder to follow at all. I don't know why it does for you.
For instance pylon power is much better displayed with projected, overlapping textures instead of the dotted lines on Low.

Day9 + Husky could very well be my least favorite caster duo ever. Just throwing it out there.

Draz made it sound like the reason that high graphics are used is because of casual viewers new to the game, but I was saying that you don't have to be a casual viewer to enjoy SC2 on full graphics. Casuals are always the majority in events with more than 5k viewers.
