FnaticRC vs MVP Game 2: ★★★★ Game 2 was a TvP. A 2 base timing attack vs a drop to a near empty base. The game was pretty exciting because the end result was unexpected.
FnaticRC vs MVP Game 3: ★★★ Game 3 was a (I can't say because it will spoil who won last game). But it seems like the very aggressive style of one player and his multitasking skills were enough to for the other player to play rather poorly. The other player however had great macro and played the game out.
FnaticRC vs MVP Game 4: ★★★ Game 4 was a TvZ. A pretty nice TvZ in terms of action. But a terrible TvZ because of an anticlimatic ending. The game had a ton of action and a lot of nice back and forths, but the the way the game ended was a let down.
FnaticRC vs MVP Game 5: ★★★★ Game 5 was a _v_. A very nice game. There was one moment where you thought for sure the player had it and then BAM! Dude makes a comeback and forces his way back into the game.
FnaticRC vs MVP Game 6: ★★★★ Game 6 was a TvZ. What a great game. A lot of nice back and forths went on. Tons of base sniping and harasses. Overall a fun game to watch.
FnaticRC vs MVP Game 8: ★★★ Game 8 was a PvZ. Really dull game until the end where the mothership vortex was the highlight of the game. Zerg played well with amazing infestor micro however, and made the game very exciting
FnaticRC vs MVP Game 9: ★★★★ Game 9 was a _v_. WHAT A WAY TO END THE DAY! Ridiculous aggression from both sides. Game ended relatively short because neither went further than 2 base but it was a good game

There, there :<
Since Fnatic has been pulling off upsets this season, I think it would be unwise to underestimate them anymore. Logic says MVP should take this fairly easily, but I wouldn't put it past Moon/ByuL/Alive to go on a tear and score a win.

Hey, I've waited ages for this thread. And you go off making it when I sleep. Tsch. :/
Anyway, HYPE!!!! Really excited for this, been too long without Moon for me. It's time for the all-kill after 3 straight series with kills to the other team. If it ends up with another 3-kill though ByuL can easily clean it up. Everything is doable when you have the Fifth Race on your team!
Also glad that after over a year of haters hating like haters hate, Moon is finally getting some real love from the community. Shame it's mainly fair weather fans but hey ho, what can you do. Better than the useless haters who don't even do research. ^_^

Well yeah, but it's not exactly the same calibre of competition in even the korean TSL4 qualifiers. Nothing against the chinese players, but it's a fact that most koreans are simply better.
that was oz game to lose, after his initial attack he was on 48 probes to 30, dont understand why he tried to attack again with 2 archons and 4 zealots, lucky win for finale but i take it!

Oz went DTs into Blink, Finale went Phoenix into robo + colossi.
Oz won a key battle with zealot, blink stalker, archon but decided to try to force a 2nd battle and lost that one leading to him losing to the counter attack.

Oh comon, If you've been following the history of DRG, you'd know that DRG went into a mini-slump due to being demoralized by being defeated a second time by MKP in the finals at MLG Winter Championship. The fans and I had to draw DRG tons of pictures to get him back on his feet.

Stop bashing on Wolf and Khalador, it wasn't a misread, Alive was down 40 supply with 10 SCVs on one base while Finale still had two bases up. It was a sound call, it was literally Finale's game to lose, and he let Alive back in by letting him do drops, teching through two paths at the same time while taking a third. Sure, MULES rock, but the casters aren't fucking clairvoyants, they had no way to know that Finale would choke that bad.
Dont blame the casters for their analysis. Anyone with a decent knowledge of how sc2 works at the pro level would've called it Finale's win. But finale just got too confident and spread himself too thin, people should be enjoying these games where near impossible comebacks are made possible by one player's mistakes and another's tenacity.

A comeback with drops like that is the equivalent of a hail mary pass. Sure, you don't expect it to work most of the time. But when it does, it's beautiful to see.

I really don't think it was a misread. I'm only half watching while playing D3 but I was thinking the whole time "Im not sure this is over..." He had upgrade advantage, mules are never to be underestimated and he had a drop killing probes while that attack was going on. A protoss on 1 base(he wasn't fully saturated anywhere) isn't that dangerous, especially vs upgraded marauders. Sure he was down but a come back wasnt that far fetched imo.

There were 2 OCs, with the first base beginning to mine out. Wolf and Khaldor made the right calls, but they did skew it a little too much in Finale's favour when disregarding that.

Excellent point, but with a proper response, IE chronoing out some probes, then remaking Collossi and pushing again, it should've been over. He lost all but two medivacs, and he wouldn't have been able to get the medivac count and viking count at the same time to deal without having zero ground army to harass/hold the follow up push.

Maybe, but I feel like DRG is just on a whole different class than Sniper or Monster. Both solid players, definitely, but that game against Monster was kind of close and that was with very poor engagements on Monster's part along with poor drop defense. DRG always has very solid mechanics, Alive's multitasking won't be as effective against DRG as it was against Monster simply because DRG should be able to keep up.

Compared to Sniper's "Herpaderp, I have 10 Mutas but I'm going to let 4 Vikings kill 8 Broods", I'd say Alive did just fine.
I'm not a professional gamer, but I ALWAYS split my army before moving out. I always scan ahead or send an scv ahead of my army. It's not that difficult.....
Except in that specific case he wasn't moving out, he was retreating from broodlords. I think he really did not want to engage there with Broodlords hanging out over head, and was just trying to run for it, but infestors caught up and he got caught in a bad position to split.

Sensor towers also do wonders
You can't really split your army before moving because they will clump.
But yes, it was bad play by professional standard. However, Sniper pretty clearly made the vastly worse play so. . .

There were 5 races in WC3, not 4.
Including Moon yeah Human Orc Undead Night Elf Moon
What race did Moon play?
The 5th?? You haven't been paying attention...
lol. In that sense, there are 4 races in SC. Terran/Zerg/Protoss/Flash
No, how Moon played, you couldn't imitate that. People saw Moon play, and then said to themselves, I should just play Night Elf my way. People try to imitate Flash.
The games are just too different. There is no macro in Warcraft III.

No, people said exatcly the same thing about Flash, to not even try imitating him. It never worked for others.
I can dig up In_Dove comment on that, but im lazy.
I was so fucking confused at the beginning of that flank, I was like "why does sniper's roaches kind of look like Moon's roaches?" But then I realized it was actually an amazing flank.

That's not entirely accurate. He certainly pioneered many builds which eventually became widely used by NE, like dotts against orc, faerie dragons against hu, zepplin micro with ballistas and somewhat the lovely archer-aow mirror style.

Snipers ZvZ, is so freakin good. Spent a bit of time watching his reps from yesterdays TSL qualifiers, that guy can fucking play. It's unfortunate a lot of his GSL matches were ZvT.

You can't say that his awesome zvz won him the game. Moon clearly overextended throwing the advantage he got from gosu flanking.

OK. Dotts are like cheap arbiters that can stasis a single ground unit and do mediocre damage. Orc has pretty poor anti-magic, which makes this effective since you can disable large portions of the orc army. In addition, orc functions somewhat like protoss in that their units can be ineffective alone, but have terrific synergy, so ripping certain units out (in particular the blademaster hero, which is like 50% of the orc army DPS) is really effective.
Faerie dragons are an anti-caster that can doe aoe damage to anything that spends mana. Human typically uses a pretty caster-heavy army. The problem is managing to use them without dying in the process, given that they're pretty expensive and fragile.
Zepplins + ballistas is half reaver micro and half pickup+dropping to avoid taking damage
Archers and AoWs a mirror matchup style that is about the most hilarious thing to play in the game. AoW is the night elf barracks equivalent, and (like most NE buildings) can uproot itself to move slowly and attack. NE mirrors will sometimes devolve into a micro war where both sides are using a hilariously slow and hard-to-kill tank with fragile archers behind them. Ballistas (long range splash siege units) also get involved.

Sniper is basically the reason why i bet on MVP taking this, he and DRG are amazing ZvZ players and Fnatic are a very zerg focussed team.

Yeah but until you watch those reps you can't say otherwise about his ZvZ lol.

Where can you download these replays? oo
The replays are all posted in the OP of each qualifier post.
I remember when I was one of the only Rain fans out there. Everyone fucking despised him because he 2 raxed NesTea out of GSL and I was like "Come on guys, it's cool."

Does anyone notice Khaldor is mixing up almost every single word tonight? 9-10 times or more he says the wrong player name when trying to refer to the other person, banelings instead of marines, tanks instead of broodlords etc.. lol.

Wow, Rain bringing it home, hopefully he can clean up the remaining kills When he plays for the late game and uses harass his play doesn't suck. All those 2 base allins leave some to be desired though ><

Zerglings are fast, you know. At one point in time, you have to unsiege to move forward. You cannot siege them one by one because the maps are to big these days.
i think rain's drop play should have been more aggressive. i think he could have sniped tech since sniper kept posturing his entire army outside of rains 4th...

No that's the thing, Khaldor just said this... if the lings waste time attacking the hatch that's actually great for Byul. It had quite a bit left before finishing, so it's not like he had to seriously risk losing it.
